2025 Ram 1500 RHO HO Hurricane oil analysis report | Do I have bad batteries?

Will be interesting to see what happens with those batteries.

When my truck was new, it had been sitting at least 30 days in storage. Both batteries had to be replaced during PDI, as the factory batteries could not be charged to the required minimum voltage.

Since that time, I put the truck on a trickle charger whenever it will sit more than a day or two. Seems every time I plug it in, it takes 24-48 hours to reach float. That’s very odd & unlike any of my prior vehicles.

There seems to be some battery consumption on these trucks...I am curious what they find out too. Putting a truck on trickle charge for sitting more then a few days is a non starter for me. I am in the backcountry hunting, camping, snowmobiling for 5-10 days at time and sometime flying 7+ days with truck at airports. If this truck cant hold a charge for 10 days or so I will be finding another solution.

Somebody on the forum has gone the Three Battery route. Hope it works for them.

Others are looking at modifying the truck to a single battery. With all the electronics on this truck & how “reliable” they have proven NOT to be in some examples, I’d be really cautious about modifying anything related to electrical power. You’ll be “on your own” if anything hiccups. And, stuff will hiccup.

I have zero plans for any modding electrical on this thing, going to run stock setup and figure out if there is a battery draw situation.

According to the jeep guys the Aux battery routinely fails every 1 to 2 years and causes a parasitic drain on the main battery taking it with it when it goes. It could be that the Aux battery that comes with the truck is a giant POS.

I just wish auto stop start was an added option not standard as it seems to be causing a host of issues.

Same. Yesterday I managed to hit 4HI at the same time and thought a wheel was falling off navigating out of the parking lot.
That’ll increase the pucker factor real quick!

I've done this twice! Though something was wrong with the truck and it was going into 4HI on its own before I realized it was me and those buttons are just too close together to not pay attention to what I'm pushing.

I always disable auto start/stop. It’s the 1st button I hit after firing the engine.

could be an interesting data point, are people disabling auto start/stop having more, less, or the same issues with dead batteries?

Before my aux battery went out, I was not turning the autostop junk off.. now I do it every time.

I think the little aux battery is the root of 95% of the issues, I'm really tempted to just ditch the factory and get better batterys even though they will keep replacing them under warranty.
