Competition is good for the consumer = more choices at better prices. There is no doubt in my mind Ford had to reduce F-150 Raptor prices because the RAM RHO is such a great value in terms of performance, technology, and styling. They both have their issues - mechanical and electronic - but RAM must be eating into Ford's market share.

But yes, big issue is still being able to get these Raptors below MSRP...and well yeah RHO is faster but looks like TRX will be slower than the R.

IMHO, it just depends on how desperate Ford gets. The TRX is bound to outsell the Raptor R simply because it's less expensive (significantly) and has a better interior (less plasticky). Neither can really compete on quality, RAM has electronic gremlins and Ford is the recall king. Styling is a subjective thing, so I'd say that's a wash. At a time when the consumer is strapped and there are few people lining-up to pay all the money for anything, let alone a six-figure super truck, both trucks are a tough reach for many on the bubble buyers. As a result, the TRX is going to pull some RR buyers away from Ford unless the Blue Oval gets more price competitive.

This is just typical Ford cost cutting, I doubt they're actually threatened by RHO or TRX sales. Love my RHO but the Raptor is still king and 9/10 people would choose it over the RAM.

Since neither company publishes sales figures of either model, how do you know? I'm not doubting your claim, but I'm a first time truck buyer, test drove both, checked out the forums, and decided to go with the RHO. I'm just one anecdote, so I'm interested in your assumptions and/or data. Raptor resale value looks higher, for sure, but anything else I'm missing?

I've owned both. I'd tell you that from an owner's perspective that the Raptor is like owning the newest iPhone. It's reliable, you know what you're getting, has strong resale value, and is super recognizable. The RHO is like having the latest Samsung Android phone, lots of cool tech, high performance, but not nearly as refined, reliable, or recognizable. I am also in the car business and the age of RHO's sitting on the lot is so much higher even with all the crazy discounts out there. The Raptors just move much quicker even at higher prices or even above MSRP. A second version of the RHO with improved infotainment and electronics would really close the gap between the two. It seems like RAM is choosing to go back to their bread and butter with the TRX instead of focusing on improving the RHO.

It's reliable, you know what you're getting, has strong resale value, and is super recognizable. Yeah, im in South Florida and I see 15 Raptors just driving for 20 minutes to grab lunch. I see 1 RHO a week, maybe. Definitely a lot more popular down here. Makes me like my RHO more.

Same I see a TRX maybe once or twice a week, but I see Raptors almost daily on the road. RHOs maybe I see once or twice a month. I love the RHO but after driving my brothers raptor back to back, the suspension feels much nicer on the Raptor. At part throttle and daily driving around town you don't really notice the extra power of the RHO, only when you drop the hammer do you really see how much quicker it is. I do like my seats better though and the interior feels a little more premium.

Good analogy, thanks for the insight. Like many have noted, I'll see 3-4 Raptors on any given day when I'm running errands and oftentimes never an RHO. The Raptor has been around longer than the RHO, so not sure its apples-to-apples, but the resale value is the most reliable indicator of popularity. Honestly, I never considered the RHO until a friend of mine told me about it. I was going to pull the trigger on a used F-150 Raptor but changed my mind when I saw the RHO. So, the iPhone analogy makes sense.

If the Raptor is chosen 9/10 times (or thereabouts), then there has to be a reason why Ford felt compelled to offer a lower cost F-150 Raptor. I'm confident it's not because they care about the consumer, so there must be another reason - flagging demand, growing inventory, believing the RHO is biting into sales, etc. Only they know, but the bottom line is that Ford saw the need to reduce prices, which may be a reflection of the competitive environment, weaker consumer, or all of the above.

My opinion is really just a cost cutting measure. Like someone else pointed out, if you option it the same as a 2026 it actually costs $10 more to get the same options. They just stripped down the 801A package more, they've been removing stuff for years. One year they got rid of the door code unlock feature, then they got rid of the steps that say Raptor, then the key fobs stopped saying Raptor. They always make these small removal. Comparing a 27 Raptor at 77k to the MSRP of my Level 0 at $76910, my RHO doesn't really stand out as a better value at just MSRP and from what I've seen not everyone is seeing as wild of discounts as I was able to get. The RHO only becomes a good value because you can get huge discounts off MSRP which are nearly impossible to get in a Raptor.

Also remember they have been making Raptors for 16 years compared to 2, so the ratio is going to be favored to the Raptor.

I have a 2026. Other than uconnect issues, no electric or mechanical gremlins for me. According to my dodge foreman, those issues have largely been resolved from the 2025 issues...or maybe I got lucky??

Hope so, I got O2 sensor codes on my 26 early on. I got them about 3 times, since the last though its been a little while trouble free. Occasionally I will get at trailer error, I am hesitant to take it to the dealer though because they'll just blame it on my hitch light pod.

It’s pretty deceiving to say they dropped price when really they dropped features to lower the base model offering. As pointed out above, they didn’t drop price on a similar optioned Raptor from 2026 to 2027.

Ford has nothing to be concerned about. The sales numbers @Eighty has posted for RHO are not highly impressive, and Ram tripped all over themselves with the Hurricane marketing to the point they retreated to V8 when they quickly came to terms with it.

Resale value is the best determining factor and RHO numbers have dropped off quickly this year from what I’ve seen. Just out of curiosity, I just ran KBB on my RHO and trade in is $29k under original MSRP. Even buying at a big initial discount puts me well in the hole after just over a year of ownership.

Hope so, I got O2 sensor codes on my 26 early on. I got them about 3 times, since the last though its been a little while trouble free. Occasionally I will get at trailer error, I am hesitant to take it to the dealer though because they'll just blame it on my hitch light pod.

I had 2 codes when I first got mine with the front sensors but they only came on twice and seems to have self resolved. Never had an issue since.

I think it’s fair to say that the RHO shouldn’t expect as high of a residual value (percentage-wise) as the Raptor. With deep dealer discounts on new RHOs, your used truck is competing against someone purchasing new at 10-12% off MSRP. The Raptor crowd doesn’t have that problem.

Glad I leased my RHO and put the depreciation risk on the bank. I do love the truck. Raptor buyers are like Toyota fanboys, but I can’t argue when perception of value sets the price. I have zero regrets ripping past Raptors knowing I paid less. Plus I like the RHO look better, but again that’s subjective.
