280 miles already headed to the shop….

Hello folks,

I’m never one to join forums I don’t even have social media but I bought a brand new RHO that sat on the show room floor and was built FEB 2025 as far as I can tell and after 280 miles it’s headed to the shop.
They had to jump it the day I bought it. Red flag one.
Drove it home no issues. Fast forward a week I had the windows tinted and when I got in it the “service blind spot was on” drove it home and the next morning the truck was dead as a door nail and took me at least 15 minutes to jump it. (Battery tender died, another story) When it finally started every “check all your sh$t” light was on to include the transmission light. Parking break set itself automatically even though it’s turned off. I’ve read multiple threads but no one has ever narrowed down the issue. Does anyone have a legitimate fix to this issue?
I’ve read multiple forums on multiple platforms so don’t hit me with the standard “this has been covered on the XYZ thread”
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I’ve driven a Ram since 2000 when I had a 1998 Ram 1500 Sport with the 5.9 360 best truck ever and driven a Ram ever since and this is the first time I’ve ever had an issue especially this soon.

Kind of sounds like all your issues point to bad batteries, or possibly just the aux battery. Since they had to jump it prior to you buying, the batteries were probably bad to begin with. Bad batteries may lead to electrical gremlins as well based on many other posts here then clear up after a new battery. Hope it’s as simple as that for you!

Keep us posted

Thanks. That’s most of what I’ve read was that it could be a battery issue and with it sitting so long hopefully that’s it. Definitely keep you posted!

Some guys have not had any luck with replacement batteries from RAM either. Many upgraded both batteries and all the nuisance CELs disappeared.

I’ve read that too but dang that just blows my mind that a battery can make a huge difference. What’s China putting in them! Lol

Did you have your windshield tinted?

I did which also made me think that may have been an issue. Not a fan of the camera on the steering wheel. Thought about covering it but I’m sure that comes with a whole host of issues.

Battery replacements fixed some of my issues. Don’t let your dealer just “charge” them. I’m dealer was cool enough to force fail both batteries. Also, I’ve heard of issues after windshield tint because all the water from squeegees hit a module under the dash. BCM maybe?

Definitely going to force them to replace them but you bring up a great point because in my “intro post” I mentioned getting T-boned in my 2020 2500 Mega Cab and I had just opened a Gatorade after ball practice and even after the fire dept cutting all 4 battery cables the radio and lights were still on making noise. Check the bottle in the windshield. Lol

I hate to say it but it may be some water passed into the dash if the installers water wick didn’t make a good seal. A lot of shops won’t do the ram windshields because of the location of the electronics in the dash.

yeah wtf? LOL another troll? some lady known for trolling forums? I was so confused reading the other thread.

Dude, or gal… that part is unclear, but started his into post with “help me” but “don’t come at me bro” and it was just odd, then got mad when people called him out on it.
