If I remember correctly, I wasn’t the only one that fell victim to PCM replacements or software updates that limited the top speed to 98 mph.

My question is, if you’re one of the others, have you gotten anywhere with Ram on a fix? I’m STILL going back and forth with my retention manager and I’m getting no where.

March 26th is when they told me 8 weeks for a software update. Today they told me there
Is no such update and that I needed to go back to the dealer to have a new RO opened so Ram could look into it further. Beyond frustrated….

That a plus lol. Thankfully it’s not over the air stuff, it’s specifically PCM updates at the dealer.

Why wouldn’t the dealer just replace the pcm? Give it a new one that wouldn’t have the flash?

That’s a good question. From what I understand, the PCM’s come blank and would need to be flashed at the dealer, which is what got me in this mess to begin with. A PCM replacement that I didn’t need. Lol

Unless the PCM can't be reflashed or wiped, I'd have the dealer wipe it/reflash it to the firmware to whatever RHO firmware they have access to as long as it isn't the one you received previously. That would be the best-case scenario. But I doubt they would be that simple; most likely, it will become a starter case at the dealer. The Service Department head at your dealership could be useful in getting Ram to move their feet and get a grip. I understand why you don't want to return to the dealer, though. Realistically, the Retention specialist and RAM care are about as useful as a broken condom. Get in contact with the service department head, and they can escalate it to a area manager also.

My dealership has been great. Unfortunately the only PCM software available for the RHO right now has the incorrect top speed, and they can’t flash “backwards” or at least that’s what I’m being told.

My first retention manager was cool. This new one doesn’t have a clue. Ram Keeps putting it on the dealer, but ultimately they can’t do anything if new flashes aren’t Available. Hopefully I have some answers on Thursday.

maybe they can pull the flash off another RHO and copy it if they have one? Cant hurt to ask. I hope they give you an answer

You took that truck to Mexico!???
Bro eventually, baja is calling this beast! The baja raptor runs have been on my radar for sometime now, sounds like they allow TRX/RHO. Mexico is just code for on a closed course, non public roadway ;) i am a law abiding citizen who would never speed or break the law on a public road ;)

I need to make that trip soon too. My brother rolled his Ranger last year, now he’s in a Raptor. I gotta tag along soon and show him up. 😂

Fuck yeah. we should get a crew of us from the forum to go down and do one in the next few years. Its spendy but worth it. I think about $10k for a week trip with everything included. The videos they post are so cool.

Raptors on the rocks in moab every spring has also been one i have really wanted to do.

Sorry for hijacking the 98 mph thread. LOL

98 mph limiter is stupid if guys wanna drag race the truck for fun occasionally.
