I Who is told by real truck.com that there are only 2 Amp Research power steps available for the RHO the XL and the plug and play, But American trucks.com told me that the smart series and vision will work I'm A little confused because real truck owns amp research?

I just emailed both companies asking the exact same thing because I want the smart series and I’ve seen videos of them installed on a couple RHO’s. Hoping to have an answer tomorrow.

I wouldn't trust much of what American Trucks say, odds are you are talking to a guy who drove a honda civic to work that day. They are part of the "American muscle conglomerate".

The smart series is not available for the RHO or 25+ ram unless you were to buy all of the wiring and control box for the 2025+. I am sure they will do a smart series or vision soon.

I totally agree so that’s why I also emailed AMP directly once I saw it sent my first email to real truck. I didn’t mean for the link in the video to mean anything either, it was just a reference of someone getting the Smart boards working on a RHO. I did comment on that video asking how, still waiting on a response. With school starting next week, I was hoping to get these asap so my 7 year old daughter doesn’t fall out on her face getting out of the passenger side in the drop off line. I might have to settle and get the old boards or another brand if I don’t hear back from AMP soon.

What are the "smart series"?

They have an updated grip on top of the boards compared to the original plug n play style. Thats the main reason I want these. But the bigger selling point from the internet anyways, is the ability to control them from an app on your phone. You can deploy or stow them when you’re washing your truck from your phone or if you’re eating at a restaurant and see someone park right next to you. Boom, remote deploy like Batman and maybe prevent a nasty door ding. This is all coming from owners comments about these boards on the RHO fb group. I like the looks of the boards and they say the older ones are more slippery when wet. And the grip material wears off on the ribs of the older boards in time. I’ll share another video where a guy compares both side by side in detail.

Sorry, I just realized you work at 797! I was meaning to reach out to you guys as well. I didn’t mean to break down the boards to you like that since you probably already know all this compared to some of us owners looking to make a decision on them. Yea I know that video doesn’t have any good info as far as links or descriptions, it was just a visual reference showing the mart boards on an RHO. Hers another link so anyone else can see the comparison of the two board styles side by side even though the smart series is on a Chevy. We need AMP to respond and give us hopefully a timeline on these for the RHO or at least make the board style an option when buying the original plug n play that does work already. I care less about the actual “smart” features than I do about the physical board itself.

No, the ones referenced above in my post, include the style board you are looking for. Though current product photos show otherwise. (AMP needs to get on to updating that).

Wow I wish they’d make this more clear because on every website it shows the old style in all the pictures and only the new style in the smart and vision series.

Yeah we all get our photos & data from them and it auto updates as they do. Certainly something they should take care of for guys who want to make sure they are getting what they want.

Just made my purchase with Nick from 797. Highly recommend going this route. Also got a response from AMP during the process. Here ya go. I’ll add pics once I receive my steps to verify everything for anyone else with similar questions about the “Smart Series” steps from AMP.
