A few months ago I posted about a intake tube that was available from a local guy that i purchased, it was pretty generic and didn't fit very well, so I reached out to a business that specializes in silicone couplers to find something that wasn't such a wrestling match to install, basically a silicone reducer coupler. After talking with him for a bit about what I didn't like about the tube I had and what others offered, he offered to make a complete kit and offer it on his website if I took some specific measurement and pics.
These tubes kits that available, are all pretty basic - Silicone couplers, 4 clamps and the tube. But no one offered a tube that was carbon fiber and matched the carbon (decals) on the radiator shroud and engine cover. You can get colored tubes, polished tubes, wrinkle black tubes and carbon, but the weave was larger on the carbon and the finish was glossy - some like that, but it doesn't look OEM, actually none of them do.
IH Supply / www.intakehose.com did it! and it looks great! They also added the silicone reducer coupler for a perfect fit on the airbox side (no wrestling to get it on), (4) T-bolt clamps and a insulated clamp to secure the coolant line and instructions on how to remove your OE silencer tube and install their kit ** This is important as there is a hidden bolt on the silencer that took me a bit of sweat to figure out what was holding the tube when I did the first tube on mine.
Does it add HP? I have no idea.. Can you hear the turbo spool up? Maybe a little more, but its not super notable. Does it look cool and match the carbon on the engine cover and radiator shroud? ABSOLUTLY!
I have no skin in the game and profit nothing from the sale of them, but I can say I was instrumental in the fit and finish and I absolutely LOVE how it turned out! Travis (Owner of IH Supply) is a great guy and went out of his way to help build this kit as their "specialty" is supplying intake hose components, not full kits. He did these to help me out, so I feel obligated to help spread the word about his kits - and he has a bunch in stock and ready to ship!
Pricing for the kit - Compared to everything else out there, they are priced pretty reasonable at $225.00 and roughly ~$10 shipping (depending where you are located). HOWEVER, they are offering forum members a 25% discount! use RHO25OFF at checkout!
