My original order is coming into MD in two weeks in case anyone wants to jump the line on the order process. I ordered it in early May and its just now showing up after 8 months almost to the day. I reordered in Forged Blue and will wait for that one to come in as i don't need the truck immediately. For clarification, I'm not reselling it - just giving folks the heads up that they will have that one arriving on or about the 16th of January. Good luck.

PS - I think its total BS that Ram is shipping these out just before the cutoff for getting our deposits back :)

Right ….It’s really hard not to believe it’s intentional.

Dose Ram have a time limit to deliver orders?

Nine months from the time of order
Am I just totally off base here or isnt the 9 month deposit a dealer thing, not a Ram thing?

Mark Dodge is holding my $1k. I don't really see what Ram has to do with this.

Yes - especially since mine went into production back in Sept, shows completed since mid November and sat for over a month before finally moving into the shipped status with a delivery date on 1-16 as of today. And yes, I am walking away from a $1000 deposit to get the color I wanted.

Might get lucky and shipping takes forever! lol never know! Has it actually been loaded onto a train to head to Pearland?

No idea but it has to slow down until early Feb before I get refunded the $1K. Considering how this whole process has been going nothing would surprise me at this point. It is still in my name on the order - I will wait until getting the call before I decline accepting it just in case. I think the 9 month window is a RAM thing but the deposit amount required for ordering is dealer specific. MD is $1K. Many folks on here ordered with dealers that did it for less and some have been willing to refund what they put down for a different vehicle. In the end, the dealer wins here because they get to resell it immediately for more than what they are selling them to us for ordering. Win-win for them.

I think it’s a safe bet that the dealers that are in a situation where they have to potentially give back deposits after ‘X’ amount of time have sent Ram a list of vons/vins that are in danger of hitting that point and have been SCREAMING at them to prioritize those builds. Bet.

I think the 9 month thing is a Mark Dodge thing. If early orders are delayed this long and it’s been a crap shoot deposits should be refunded period. No need to wait for the 9 month mark when early orders are being forgotten about. The 9 month policy needs to be changed to case by case basis

I’m with you here. It should be case by case basis. In all honestly, MD will actually end up making higher profits selling them 4-5k under MSRP (compared to 9-11k). They should do the right thing and refund the deposits to those impacted customers that request to opt out.

You're right. It's the dealer's decision re: the deposit. It's common, but not a directive from Dodge.

I ordered may tenth but from a local Tennessee dealer. $5000 non refundable deposit. Just curious if there is a legal time limit that they have to refund at.

You did a 5k non refundable deposit? That’s insane. I’ve ordered specialty cars and not done more than 2500 lol the non refundable part at that amount is crazy and if you’re not scheduled get the hell out of that situation!

Check your state law, regardless of what they put in writing most states do not allow for a non-refundable deposit on vehicles. Meaning if you ask for it back, they have to return it.

I have no gripes with MD. I knew the $1K was non-refundable when I signed the agreement. They did not know that RAM would be playing games like they have been with the early orders by fulfilling those placed last before ours. I ordered black because they were not planning to offer the forged blue option until "later" and I assumed that "later" would be long after I was enjoying my new truck. Well, "later" turned out to be 8 months and they decided to offer the forged blue color sooner and start building them for folks months before those of us that ordered the original colors 8 months ago. That pisses me off so I decided to walk from the $1K and get the color I originally wanted. Again, not MD problem but they will capitalize from my decisions because now they have an extra car that will sell very quickly and my $1000 as extra profit on said car. Considering some of the issues with the first releases, waiting a little longer may not be a bad decision.

Why is it insane? I’ve gotta pay for it sooner or later. I didn’t order the truck just to turn around and cancel the order. The reason I’m asking is there a certain point in time where they are required to cancel and refund if it’s not built.

Update
It occurs to me from what I’m reading is there are some TRX‘s that never got built. I’m curious if there is a time period that they declare it is not going to get built.

Agree 100%. Given the early build issues, I'm ok waiting a bit. I don't want a headache. I'll drive my trusty 15 year-old Tundra in the meantime. Ordered 5/28. Silver/Level 1/ Pano/ bed utility/ no graphics.
