Hopefully this will save some of you the headache i went through. I purchased my RHO while i was in Missouri on May 6. I knew i would be heading back to my Florida home in a few weeks, so i thought i would spend time getting comfortable with the new truck before heading out on the 1000 mile trip. The only concern i had was i got the "warning light illumination unavailable" message one day. I read here that it went away for many and never came back, so i just decided to not worry. I did buy a NOCO Genius 10 and used it several over nights just to be sure. No battery issues to date. Now for the real problem. I left on June 4 to travel the 1000 mile trip to home. Truck ran great. Held gears on the hills that my 2022 Bighorn Hemi etorque would not. MPG was 18.5 on the RHO whereas the Hemi used to get 20.8. Keep in mind i have more hp, 35 inch tires, and 3.92 gears (3.21 on Bighorn). So was i was pleased. Stopped south of Birmingham to fuel up at a Shell station so i could get the "good stuff". I went to leave and i heard the ding, which is never good. Dash was black and said Press Brake and Push Button to start. The truck was running. I put it in gear and the D on the shifter bezel was blinking off and on. The yellow triangles on the mirror were on. I finally got it to go into gear and started driving. Dash is still blacked out with the Press brake and Push button to start message. It also showed the icon that a door was ajar- which it was not. Got on the road. No cruise control, no gauges on the cluster .No idea of how fast i was going. I was not sure if my taillights were working and there was no clicking or turn signal indication when i put them on. I was afraid to stop to let my dog out or take a break for next 7 hours home in the dark. I had my daughter on alert to possibly come get me if i broke down. This is on a Thursday night a 6 pm when this happened. So i am driving not able to keep an eye on my tire pressure or Fuel level. I made it home at 12:45 am. I shut my truck off and un packed a few things. Started it up and everything seemed fine. All gauges were working. Fuel gauge said i had 45 miles to empty. Good Lord was watching over me. I kept checking the Ram APP and it had not updated in 3 days. Next morning it had a check engine light. I checked the Ram App and it showed a Blind Spot Monitoring System Fault. Called my Dealer (Friday Morning) He said they would get me in on Monday am. I drove the truck. Fueled it up at my Favorite Shell Station. After a few startups the CEL went away. I cancelled my appointment for Monday. All is well now, so unless something occurs down the road, I will assume it was a glitch or software might fix it. Here is what I learned. Don't panic when this happens to you. Let the truck set and reset for a few minutes. It will start and most likely and be fine. Ram dealers will be of no help after 5pm. Which leaves few options. Standard line from my Purchasing dealer was we can't help you, go to your nearest dealer. I love my truck and i really believe i have a good one. It was built on a Wednesday. That reassures me. I will let you guys know if anything else happens. It has been perfect the last two days.
