Carplay Nav Directions in Heads Up

Out of the blue this morning, my truck started displaying carplay google maps directions in the gauge cluster and heads up display. My last connect update was a month or so ago,, anybody else notice this? I verified I did not have any navigation running, I've never used the ram nav once. Also, when I tried to pull up the navigation map in the gauge cluster, it said it was not available as the carplay map was displayed on my connect screen, or some sort of message like that.

I’ll have to try out Google maps, I just finished a road trio but used Waze the entire trip.

I heard that it has always worked with Apple Maps but this is new for Google Maps

i have a work iphone and a personal samsung, I cannot wait until there's an update for android to a large screen and I'm ditching the iphone

I always thought the same, but we use my wife's iPhone when she is in the truck and tbh, the whole screen is too much for me - especially when the alerts pop at the very bottom and I have to physically look down to see if object on the road or popo coming up

I love my shortcuts below AA but I wish we could just make the AA a little bigger and keep the shortcuts. Either way, I'm good with it

Wish they would do this for Waze, but I'll have to check Google out on my way home from the office this afternoon. However, I don't think my truck has had any updates since I took delivery in March.

So it’ll show up on the cluster, but it would let you do the map display. The cluster will periodically update with the apple like turn info. If u have the music screen on , the turns show up

Ohhh whoops misinterpreted it. Yeah it only lets the Ram navigation map show up. But that only is if u don’t have any other map actively guiding you somewhere or you don’t guidance on. I wish it would let the apple or google map on.

Mine will show Apple Maps in the cluster and HUD, but does not show Google or Waze. Would be great if it would show Waze at some point as I use that mostly for the cop alerts

I hope not. The screen size is more than enough and having the shortcuts underneath is extremely nice.

I tested mine on the way home yesterday and in to work this morning, Google Maps navigation prompts did not show up in the cluster.
