Anyone running the BMS dual catch cans for PCV and CCV? I ran a single PCV catch can on my previous truck, but it was just a naturally aspirated V8. As I understand, these forced induction engines running higher boost really need something on the CCV circuit as well.

Edit: After some more research, I determined the J&L is better for my application. I love the idea of the BMS system. But I’m not tuning or pushing mine too hard. So the J&L will arguably do a better job under my lighter loads since it’s an AOS design.

Order is over to you @Nick797

I’ve been wondering about the catch cans too. Dealer told me it’s not a huge issue so far and the engine is so new they don’t really know. I did just put in a car6 though 4 days ago.

Every DI engine will benefit from a CC...If a person is not willing to commit to the maintenance, then it's probably not for them.

Hi, if you have time go to the vendor section Mishimoto and see my recent post. These engines produce about 8.3ml of oil/gas into the intake every 1,000miles. If you are planning on keeping the truck a while I suggest getting one.

Thanks for the info. I live in Wisconsin and have seen guys say they are not good to use in cold weather. Is that true? Remove in winter? is there a specific temp to remove if so?

Interesting, I will have to look into why they say that, I live in Texas so don’t have much winter info to share on that.

I've read and heard the same thing regarding catch cans in cold weather. I'm also curious on how often cold weather owners are needing to empty their cans in the winter for the RHO?

Too many potential downsides on running a CC. Warranty issues, being 1st & foremost.

For those wondering, cold weather concerns involve the freezing of CC contents, which can prevent blow-by pressure relief & result n blowing out the main seal. It’s happened.

These are boosted engines, so intake valve coking is not as serious an issue as on NA engines.

After much research, the best cure is frequent oil changes (these lightweight modern oils are super high detergent & don’t cause film build-up on intake valves like old-school oils) & premium gas…I know, I know…the gas doesn’t wash the valves in a DI engine, but it does allow for a cooler spark that doesn’t promote excessive coking of any oil film on the valves.

Technician friend who just did my 15K oil change said he noticed oil & recommends a catch can. I've never had one before on any of my turbocharged vehicles. I'm aware of the concept/need, I guess I'll be the Wisconsin/cold weather Guinea pig!

I'm still stock, with no plans to tune, but who knows. I'm more interested in this truck lasting ~100K miles without issue than extra horsepower...at the moment!

The BMS system (PCV & CCV) is more expensive but seems more comprehensive & looks high quality. I'm thinking it might be worth the extra money.

Any other owners catch can experiences would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

Just curious, what warranty issues would be caused in your opinion?

I have a Mighty Mouse CC...I am 3 minutes from the Ill/Wisco border,so I will be freezing my Ass off too....If you run your lines in an Arc and not a sag you should be fine.
