Hi Guys,
At 4400 miles I had a check engine light come on after driving for five minutes. I started freaking out because I was going on a 500 mile road trip in two days! The truck was driving fine nothing obvious. After my errand I went home and checked the fault code with my ODB2 reader. It had P0111 latched (IAT) inlet air temperature probe. I popped the hood and the inlet probe looked normal, no loose connections! I decided to remove the probe and see WTF was going on. See photo's! I cleaned the connector and sensor pins with contact cleaner and reinstalled it. Next I reset the fault code and crossed my fingers! The check engine light hasn't come back on. The online info said it could be a dirty air filter or the sensor. My truck has been solid since delivery. Hope this helps those who have this pop up!

Scott

has the CEL come back? that's the maf sensor, while it may measure temperature for incoming ambient air, that is not the sensor that gives you the IAT reading you see in the dash.

This is not the outside air temperature sensor for the dash OAT reading. The information online clearly shows the inlet air temperature sensor on the intake just down stream of the engine air filter! Hope that clears it up.

I'm not talking about the outside temperature.

You have ambient air temp measured by the engine, that would be in the maf sensor and not displayed in the instrument cluster.

The intake air temperature displayed next to the I/C coolant temperature on the dash, is the temperature taken between the intercooler and engine.
