Bare Bones
I've been trying to save a few dollars (a deep detail can easily cost $100- $120+Plus Tip, here in Southern Expensifornia), by letting the hand wash place handle the big cleaning, while I focus on the interior, wheel wells, engine bay, undercarriage, and trim.
I tried a bottle of Chemical Guys Bare Bones Undercarriage Spray and was very impressed with the results.
I've applied it 2x, as of Saturday, May 24th.
Bare Bones is a heavy, oily protectant that leaves a thick film to protect the vehicle's underside from street grime.
It gives the undercarriage a shiny, almost new look.
I bet this would be great for our cold-weather RHO family members to reduce winter deicing grime.
Steps Taken::
Cleaned the undercarriage with a power washer and some sort of brush or pad.
If you do this right, you can probably get 3 or 4 post-wash resprays of the Bare Bones before you need to scrub under there again. Of course, this depends on the climate in which you live. It's dry as a dead camel's hump here 80% of the year, so your results might be different.
Sprayed the Bare Bones on everything, wiped down the fender liners, and left it alone everywhere else.
I wanted to post some pictures, but the springtime desert winds have been crazy for the last week, so the truck gets re-dirtied very quickly.
If you're a vehicle clean-freak like me, you'll probably like Bare Bones...
