Not an RHO owner just yet but it's coming! Will be coming from a 2024 Sierra 1500 AT4X with the dreaded 6.2L L87. 21,870 miles and right at a year old....catastrophic engine failure. Spun a rod bearing and it died on me on the way to the dealership. If you know anything about this motor, it's been a problem child for GM since they started using it in 2019 and so much so that there's a federal investigation into its failure with the NHTSA due to the number of failures. Mine is currently sitting at the dealership awaiting a new engine from GM....currently at a 6 week wait as they're on backorder and can only be ordered as they fail.
So the time has come for me to come back to RAM after a short hiatus and this time I'm coming in hot! Previously owned a 2014 Lone Star 4x4, then traded it for a 2016 Laramie 4x4 and finally a 2019 Laramie 4x4 that went away in 2021 for a '21 Sierra 1500 AT4 6.2L that had no problems. Truth be told...I never should have left Ram in the first place. But live and learn I guess...
So that's my story and very soon I'll be joining the ranks with my very own RHO. I test drove it over the weekend and even my wife said if we knew what was happening with my AT4X we'd have driven it home. So if she really likes it....it's all but a done deal! Until then....I'll be lurking and learning!
