Not trying to start **it here, just intensely curious...

My question: Why are many folks here so focused on 37" tires?

It's physically ONE INCH more ground clearance than the stock 35s.

Is this a "The TRX/RAPTORS have them, so we NEED them!" thing, or is it something else?

I love both versions of the RAM wheels, so I have no interest in changing them. (Would like to powder coat the silver beadlocks to a smoked bronze.)

35s are plenty tall enough for me. My wife already hates climbing into the truck, and my kids aren't that graceful, so going higher could lead to Traumatic Brain Injuries.....

Thanks...

If you smoke bronze the bead locks please post pictures. What color is your truck?

Honestly I was looking forward to going from 35's on my Wrangler to 33's on the Rebel I was planning to buy lol I definitely don't need any bigger tires for daily driving or the light off-roading/baja fun i'd like to do.

I know in the Jeep community it was just MOSTLY always bragging rights and my dick and tire is bigger than yours lol

They want to look cooler on the streets but by doing so losing wheel travel, trimming fenders, etc. One inch of ground clearance is not worth it on a pre-runner style truck. You lose power (spinning more rubber). Then once you take the truck offroad you will be rubbing like crazy especially while articulating.

Only pro to 37s besides look is better ride quality.

My concensus is: if you offroad and want bigger than 35, get a mid travel kit if you want to run 37s+ and not have any issues.
If you mainly street drive and want a more aggresssive look, go for 37s and a level kit. just get a zero offset wheel. May have to trim a little

TBH i cannot tell the difference between a TRX rolling by on 35s or 37s. Not until someone is running 40s will you notice much. IMO

I personally offroad alot and my wheels will have some offset so sticking with 35s.

I may go with 13.5" wide tires, they look mean as heck so maybe run a 35x13.50" for a good compromise. Worried it might clip the fender liners on jump landings tho. Going to take some measurements when my truck shows.

Last thing for 35s is they are alot less expensive, not that any of us care about that. LOL

Source: had raptors on 37s that i offroaded heavily.

For me, I'm in the camp that 37's would fill the wheel arches a little better. But is it really worth the added cost of the tires and drop in fuel mileage for a pavement princess/mall crawler? I have no intentions of taking my $90k truck to play in the rocks....I would do better to spend the money and build a dedicated buggy for that purpose. So my RHO will likely remain mostly stock with the exception of maybe an exhaust and tasteful graphics. I have too many toys as it is

Question based on responses:

I 100% agree too small wheels and tires look freaking horrible, but won't "filling the wheel well" lead to rubbing and possible body damage in off road extended suspension travel situations?

My truck will never be used for off roading so there's that ha. But, I do plan on getting 37's to fill it out after getting the Eibach front leveling springs installed. I'll show you when I get to Hesperia sometime this summer.

Theoretically that's possible if you don't limit uptravel with bumpstops

I think this is a bit of the overarching, be yourself. To each his own. Different strokes for different folks. Making it your own. That’s my answer.

At the end of the day, it’s what makes you happy.

In the minority maybe but I think 37s look absurd. 35 is perfect for this truck.
I also don't get how most think on 37s and 18s ride is better because when I drove my friends trx it was worse than 35s on my trx. Also yes when he finally put 22s and 37s ride was better.
