Is anyone thinking about taking off the stock pipes? They sound horrible.

Nope. Keeping the exhaust stock. I don’t think anything could be done to make it sound better or increase performance (significantly). Guess I’m old school and never liked the 4 or 6 cylinder exhaust. V8 or keep it quiet. Just not worth it either Then throw in the fact Ram can deny warranty if something goes south. Yea yea yea. I know they can’t deny warranty claims if part doesn’t cause issue but good luck trying to fight corporate. Every car I’ve had first thing I did was an exhaust. Stacks on my ram diesel caused your eye balls to role. Many i regret and got tired dealing with it once the fun wore off especially if you tow. Current DDHC is stock and it’s still too loud at times. Maybe just getting old. Damn. lol

I guess I'm the only one who actually likes the stock sound lol. I love the fact that it stays silent when just cruising but love to hear it when it rips

I plan to replace the muffler with a straight through design perforated resonator. From past experience, this raises the volume mildly without introducing any drone. Vibrant is the brand I typically go with.

I still want to see if by some chance I can find a stock takeoff exhaust from a limited HO and swap it out with any parts that are different. Then it’s quiet like it should be and it’s a factory exhaust. How do they know the line didn’t screw up and put the wrong exhaust system on it

Not sure that is a good approach as the truck is tuned for that more unrestrictive exhaust. However, narrow band O2 sensors should keep AFR on point with short trim tables. I don't think these have wide band O2's like hellcat motors.

You're saying the stock RHO exhaust is too loud?

I’m not concerned. HP and torque figures are the same. Yes they did say seat of the pants feel was different, but that is also because of the improved intake. I’m not convinced it’s that much less restrictive. Who is to say someone’s aftermarket exhaust that sounds better to them isn’t also slightly more restrictive.

Well, the fact the RHO uses two exhaust pipes instead of a single I think its safe to say it flows better than a single. The HO motor is rated same between Limited and RHO but I am confident the RHO puts down more HP/TQ than limited as a result of the intake and exhaust improvement. Curious to see some Dyno numbers. Other variations like tune, weight of truck and larger tires will offset realizing this additional power. I don’t think you will notice a large difference if you swapped out the exhaust for the limited, but it will be more than zero difference.

Agreed
