I’m curious if anyone else is encountering this. I’ve been seeing this pretty regularly, but not all of the time, either. At times my digital cluster is very bright in low ambient lighting conditions, and it will be noticeably brighter than the center display. There is the dial on the lower left of the steering wheel to control this, and the display is almost acting as if it overrides that setting. I can bump the wheel down and back to its original position and it’s appropriately dim again. Next time I start the truck in night time conditions, it may be back to extremely bright again.

It’s pretty easy to just hit the dial again, but I’m definitely confused why I’m needing to manually adjust this. I don’t ever adjust this higher, so it just seems the setting isn’t saving, or there an ambient light sensor not functioning.

Same, every time I start the truck in the garage, the gauges are full bright and the screen is dim...have to roll the illumination wheel to fix it.

Same. Experienced that twice.

Yes, happening to me as well. Another one of the random dumb idiosyncrasies of this truck along with the locking issue in the other thread lol.

yeah same here.. at first I thought I touched the dial when I was cleaning interior but it's happening almost every time..

one question - what do you guys have on the middle screen while it's behaving like this? I have a Carplay page with the satellite map (which is very bright at night), maybe it's trying to match the ambient light?

Happened to me bringing mine home. Early dawn hours about 5:30 AM. The amusement dials did nothing to change it. Then a few minutes it went back to normal.

“Amusement dials” you gotta love voice text. I think I’ll leave that one alone. Every now and then voice text gets it right. I was wrong thinking they were adjustment dials.

Well good… misery loves company!

I’ve noticed it too. But, eventually, it swaps to the dim setting. Just seems to lag. Makes me wonder if it uses the sensor or goes by time of day. Judging by the outside temp sensor issues, I’m sure it’s the sensor just having poor sensitivity.

Ooh, could it be a time of day issue? Last night this happened and it was right at last light. Tonight I didn’t encounter the issue, but we were well past sundown. I’ll pay more attention to this.

I always have the same issue. Screen is blinding bright. What’s worse is my manual dial doesn’t dim the center screen whatsoever! I’ve even messed with the auto brightness and manual brightness options in the vehicle controls menu. It doesn’t matter. My dimmer control doesn’t do anything to the brightness of center screen whatsoever.

Infotainment screen is controlled through vehicle settings on that screen...dash is on the left dimmer.

In the same area of discussion, it there a way to control the heads up brightness? Seems dim in daylight and very bright at night, I havent found any control for it.

I thought that was in the hud settings I'm sure I found it there.

If there isn’t enough light or too much light, the wheel won’t do anything. It kinda only activates if it’s dark out. Like around dusk I’ve noticed that it’s too bright and I’ll try to lower it but it won’t work. Once the ambient lighting turns on inside the car, my wheel affects the brightness. I assume it locks out during high brightness because they don’t want the screen to be too dim in the sun
