I'm sure most of us have seen Burger Motorsports youtube video showing dyno runs on each of the maps/tunes available on the JB4. Anything Map 2 or higher required a minimum of 93 octane. The boys over at Burger threw some E85 into the tank to boost the octane up past 93.

As far as I can tell, the RHO is not a Flex Fuel vehicle. Does anyone know the reliability impact of mixing E85 with 91 pump gas to achieve this higher octane rating on an otherwise stock vehicle?
I am seriously considering the JB4 but being in California, 91 the highest fuel grade commonly found. E85 is more easily sourced in the Los Angeles area than 100 octane race gas. Wondering if I am better off going with the Diablosport depending on the safety of mixing E85 with 91.

Also found this EFlex Fuel Kit. Would this little device help to run an E85 blend better?

Dang, I hate that for you. We have 93 everywhere, and on top of performance, it really helps with the mpg's.
That said, I continue to be torn on which to choose (Jb4 vs Cat6). Best of luck!

The Diablosport is amazing to me. I have crappy 91 Octane here in SoCal and I can feel a difference in power (just using Map 1) mostly during normal driving - way more torque just part throttle in the mid range.

But the best part of the DS is the throttle control, the pedal is so much more sensitive it feels like turbo lag has been reduced 80%.

The JB4 is great I’m sure but you won’t feel the difference unless aggressive accelerating, where the DS with the throttle controller it changes the feel and drive all the time. I can’t imagine going back to the stock gas pedal, it sucks

I will not void my warranty, but for those who are looking at possible E85 tunes, I would never run one without an ethanol sensor. I want the tune making real time adjustments based on actual E content; not my own calculations and tests. Plus it allows you to switch back to unleaded fuel any time.

Running JB4 here. I've been mixing E85 in with 93 (usually to E25) for a few months now. A few observations - 1/ It's faster. Even on the same map, it's faster with E than with straight 93. 2/ Until recently it was flawless, but just this week I got a code for a rich condition on startup. Unsure if it's related to running E, but worth mentioning. I'm going to clear the code once I run this tank out and see what happens before deciding how to proceed.

Great info and please keep us posted. I used to mix e85 and 93 in my M6 and it was noticeably faster with just the small fuel change

Curious what the fueling limits are on the RHO. Say we got the programming and flex fuel sensor figured out for an E blend to pure E…What about the factory stock fuel pump and injectors? Will they be maxxed out?

A true E85 (flex) system in the hurricane will be a game changer for performance for sure. I’d like to think the future is bright for this platform.

I’d love to see an RHO with catless downpipes and E85. Bet it runs 1/4 mile
Into the 11’s easy with stock drivability.

Fair question for sure. I haven't seen anyone mod these enough to know what the fuel system limit is yet.

Catless downpipes and full E85 will definitely get it into the high 11's, maybe even mid 11's. I've gone 12.4 just on map 2 and no other mods - also on heavy falken 35's.

Do you have Dragy results comparing the differences on the same map?

Chris

No I don't. I've been wanting to re-dragy it with E30 and map 3 and 4 but haven't had time. Also tough to find enough road around here to slow this thing down after a full 1/4 mile run lol
