Anyone rocking the AFE Vulcan? Any drone? Right now it's the leader for me.

I went with the AWE based on feedback that the AFE had drone on the highway. A member on these forums gave feedback on the AFE on one of the exhaust threads:

“It does drone , it has a constant Humm zero rasp so hard to explain ... it is most annoying when waiting for it to settle In to 8th gear at 70 75 miles an hour”

Maybe they will be able to give you a little more feedback.

You happy with the AWE? Videos don't do it the justice it deserves. I know they're great as far as drone is concerned. Just curious on if you're happy with the sound/growl. Thought about the MRT mid pipe too because of the price. What are your thoughts?

It just arrived today. Will get it on Friday. I will be able to give feedback and some videos after (even though the iPhone may not capture the best audio).

I'm holding out to hear some sound clips of the awe from people on here. Besides the highway drone the afe sounds really good from what i've seen on YouTube.

I honestly can't say we have sold more than maybe 2 aFe systems. Most including myself run the AWE (which I love), CORSA Xtreme, MBRP or the Borla Setup (for the Ram platform). I think the AWE will probably be one of the best sounding for the RHO right now.

Borla's entry in the RHO aftermarket will be out in early July.

I'm waiting until I can hear them all.

How loud is the AWE on cold start, hoping to avoid anything TOO loud if possible.

Maybe this isn't the right place to ask but does everyone's exhaust sound like a hive of bees ??? Especially when you first start it ??? I started my truck inside the garage with the door closed and the back window open and it scared my wife !! She actually screamed "what is that" when it started buzzing !!

Funny you mention that. I like everything about exhaust note just fine… except cold start.

My wife told me that it sounds like a lawn mower.

It kinda does sound like a lawnmower !!! And I guess I haven't actually heard it after its warm, there isn't really much to hear !!

I just installed AWE 0FG and it checks all the boxes. It is absolutely as good as any inline 6 will ever sound. I had the MRT Trail Rated and it did exactly what it was supposed to do. But after a couple months I did want a little more. I sure got it. Hardly any if any at all drone driving around in town around 45-50. Haven’t been out on interstate yet, but man it sounds REAL good at WOT.

exact same situation I found myself in, did the same as you, also came out with the exact same conclusion, nothing more to add.

Agreed, not much more to add to gram and hail’s posts. Sounds excellent at idle, hardly hear it while cruising but comes alive when you get on it. AWE did a great job with this one.

I drove from Houston to Dallas this weekend with the AWE exhasut installed. There is ZERO drone at 2k rpms. Its like magic. It just goes quite. Below and above that, there is drone, its not overbearing, but its there.

I couldn’t have put up better vids. That cold start is damn near TRX status. Of course not quite as much depth but 1000% better than stock. And man does it ever wake up at WOT. That brrraaaapppp is also badass!

Also, these are phone vids. Phone mic can’t pick up the true sound. You can not go wrong. I don’t care which other exhaust that anyone else gets (enter your favorite company). It may sound great, but will absolutely not sound any better than this AWE.
