Hi all

Wrapping up my purchase at Mark Dodge (August order)
I understand they don't off the Mopar care anymore , and that seems to be the more popular option out there
They offered me 5 yrs 75k for $2k through their "LDS (Louisiana Dealer Services) Versant"
Just curious anyone has used the LDS warranty package before?
It's hard to find much about them online - wanted to see if anyone got it and if they have any first hand opinions on it

Thanks much appreciated

Don’t do third party! Get the Mopar, it’s a little more expensive but worth the peace of mind. Chris @RamFan is the resident expert on extended warranties.

Nobody yet has listed any objective evidence that any option is better than another. There are many opinions, I think one person was quoting past Mazda experience, but haven't seen any facts regarding Mopar vs LDS.

Mopar care works at any Mopar dealer, way better no headaches with a third party. I have it on my current truck and it’s been a breeze to use if I need it

Definitely a lot easier to deal with. My friend had to move to Canada years ago and had issues with fuel tank year or so later. Every thing was covered under expected warranty.

I was finalizing the sale of my RHO with them and they were trying like crazy to get me to buy the extended warranty. Had to tell the guy 3+ times I'm keeping the truck for less than 3 years and I do not need anything but the factory warranty.

That’s interesting you say that MD doesn’t offer Mopar, I was directly told you absolutely CAN purchase the Mopar warranty at MD, they just rather you buy the third party because they make more $$$ on you that way.

No, it's LDS or nothing. One person got Mopar through MD but Anthony confirmed that was a mistake and I think they took that employee out back and shot them.

Lmao.

So we are forced to buy Mopar out of pocket, that’s so frustrating.

So we are forced to buy Mopar out of pocket, that’s so fucking stupid and completely unethical, Mark Doge is definitely stealing our hard earned money behind these third party warranties, forcing buyers to only these options, go fucking figure, what a joke.

Not sure what you mean out of pocket. You've got to pay for it either way. Do you mean as opposed to be able to roll it into your payment? That's true.

I just went with LDS.

Can't imagine they are making money off the truck so don't really blame them here. I have had better luck on price-shopping warranties outside the finance office anyway so not a deal breaker for me.

Well...I think after researching the crap out of warranties, I'm now believing that LDS is a better option over Mopar, call me crazy, but I do believe it is more flexible and has overall a better value add over Mopar. Lately, I've heard Mopar is a MF'r to deal with, while the opposite is true for LDS experience (very positive), so I'm going with that from Mark Dodge.

How much is that running $$?
depends MOPAR paid for it for me cause I was down my last truck for 2-3 months. It really depends how long you want it for plus the miles and stuff. I think when I was looking earlier around 4k? maybe more. that was like 125k miles and 5 years

Does LDS need to be purchased through a dealer? Or can it be purchased after the sale?

I cannot find that information. I would call Mark Dodge and speak to Melinda Smith, she’s their warranty expert, she’s incredibly helpful and kind.

I have owned 5 DJR products. Mopar will start emailing you directly or mailing warranty's info. Wait for that. I work at a dealership and the prices directly where better that what my dealership could get me. Also it's a factory warranty.
