Had a CEL this afternoon. Pulled the code reader and came back with “2 codes”

Believe this is intake temp sensor related? Will drop it off to dealer on Monday.

Damn. Hopefully it’s as easy as a sensor replacement.

I hope so as well. I could change the intake sensor in 5min, but want them to do it incase it’s something else even if it burns a half day at the dealer..

Just dropped it off. At least they paid for an Uber back home since they didn’t have a loaner. Keep you posted tomorrow on what they find.

Flashing CEL, or constant? Did you hear a chime when it illuminated? Have you been driving in any dusty conditions? Did the light go off or stay illuminated after an ignition cycle?

Lots of CEL activity reported on this forum. Wondering if all the same cause or what differences exist?

Constant CEL, no chime, no dusty conditions, light stayed on after a couple ignition cycles.

Just FYI: Another forum member with one of your RHO’s faults was able to fix the issue with some electronics contact spray cleaner. He just removed the sensor, sprayed it off & reinstalled.

But, letting the dealer diagnose & fix provides a record of the incident. Plus, it could be something more major.

Dealer called and said they ordered a MAF sensor but part won’t be here until Monday. I believe the intake temp is built into the MAF sensor.

Since I picked it up from the dealer (part won’t be in until Monday) I drove it home and parked it. They told me it was fine to drive but I don’t think driving with a bad MAF is all that “fine” so didn’t touch it, especially with reports of cats melting. I had to move it today (sat since Tuesday afternoon) and this morning CEL was gone. Drove it to the store and CEL never came back. Today’s temp was 88 degrees.

When this CEL first came on, my outside temp read 136 degrees. It was hot, about 100deg/95% humidity, but not that hot. Or maybe this heat wave caused the MAF system to get too hot being it uses a heated element to detect air flow.

Still having them replace it, just odd that it went away when temps dropped.

Or just really is a bad sensor since a lot of RHO’s on these forums are in places like AZ and southern CA, never had this issue. Idk, these trucks are a headache electrically. I did see a YouTube comment on an RHO video that someone else had a MAF sensor replaced.

Had this same code popped up at 1000 miles. Dealer replaced the MAF sensor. And 400 miles later light came on again with same code. Have to take it again tomorrow to see what the issue is now

Surely it can’t be another bad sensor. The odds are quite high for that. Keep us posted please.

It’s odd that my CEL went away. Only factor is the temperature which shouldn’t affect it. Is your CEL staying on or is it going away and coming back on? I cant imagine you had another sensor go bad. Maybe it’s something else?

Hope they sort yours out too. Keep us posted on what they do.

This doesn’t sound great. My CEL came on today at 4300 miles. P0111 just like you guys. I was two hours from home, so I cleared the code and drove home without any issues. Weirdly, when I started my truck and had the CEL this morning, my UConnect screen was white and inoperable. I did the power button and tuning knob reset, and it started working again. First time I’ve had my issue with the screen…

For you guys that had this CEL, did it come on when it was very hot outside or are you guys in cooler climates? This happened when my outside temp read 136 degrees. CEL has been off since actual outside temp is 90 or below or trucks outside temp is reading 120 or less. Even though it settles down after driving, it reads extremely high at first, wonder if the MAF sensor is having the same initial high temp and the MAF is heat soaked causing a CEL.

Am in Arizona and it was over 100 outside. I just dropped it off at the dealership will see what they say tomorrow

I’m in SC, and the temp was well over 100 where my truck was parked outside for about 6 hours.

Could it be our trucks are pampered princesses? “It’s too hot outside to drive” lolz

Dealer never called so MAF sensor didn’t come in. Since the CEL has been off since Saturday and no other issues, going to drive it on our 400 mile trip tomorrow. Will be sure to bring my code reader incase it comes back so I can clear it.

Just really don’t want to drive my wife’s small Audi Q3 with us, our 2 y/o son and our two dogs. It is an S Line so has comfortable seats, but would be tight. Unless there’s an overwhelming opinion that I shouldn’t drive the RHO 🤣

Wish me luck! lol
