Just throwing this onto its own post to see if anyone else who had this issue has come up with a solution. When activating the hands free driving, there should be green lights on both sides of the cluster that illuminate, however on my truck, these lights only work at night. It makes a chime during the day to signal hands free driving is activated and then the white lights which do illuminate during the day and at night just shut off when hands free driving activates during the day. Some have said adjusting the dash brightness with the dial to the left of the steering wheel fixed this for them but I think there are still several that have continued to have this issue after doing so. It’s a small issue, and you really don’t see the lights great in bright driving conditions but curious if anyone else has this issue and if so if you have found a solution to fixing it. Small thing but hoping to find a fix.

IIRC, some have mentioned that its tied to the dial that sets dash brightness (roller next to headlights) . If its set to max the lights stay white. Try turning it down and see if that fixes it.

Yeah I mentioned that in my original post, tried that and unfortunately that didn’t work.

Same here... works great at night not at all during the day. No matter what I do.

I have to get the CV done soon so I was planning on having the dealer take a look.

Let me know what they tell you. Like I said doesn’t really bother me much cuz the hands free driving still works during the day, just not sure why the lights only work at night. Really doesn’t make much since tbh.

The green dashboard light in my truck isn’t working even at night. I’ve thoroughly checked the settings and adjusted the dial on the left side of the steering wheel but it didn’t help.

I also noticed that the headlight animation doesn’t play when I unlock the car, the lights just turn on solid. I’m going to check the fuses to see if anything is loose. The truck otherwise running great.

Interesting finding! My headlight animations work and the odd thing is the white lights on the side of the dash work during the daytime when the car is just in normal cruise control or even the assisted hands on cruise (which is also great in my opinion because it will drive itself with one finger on the wheel basically🤣). Just very odd as soon as it switches to hands free the white lights in the side of the dash don’t turn green they just shut off.

I tested this on my way to work this morning and observed the same as you. The side lights are on and white when using regular or hands on wheel assisted cruise control but as soon as hands free kicks in the lights turn off. For what it's worth my headlight animation is there too.

I believe I might be the first to report that the headlight animation isn’t working. It’s not a major issue, and I’ll have the dealer check it out when I go in for fluid change.

I’ve tried the hands free driving feature multiple times. On city freeways, I have to touch the steering wheel every 10–15 seconds.
That said, while driving on an interstate highway in the middle of nowhere, I went about 75 miles without touching the wheel, and the truck was fine with it as long as I kept my eyes on the road. I got a warning only when I wasn’t looking forward. I guess that’s how it’s supposed to work? It really does feel hands free (you don’t have to touch the steering) when you’re out there driving alone.

yeah there are 2 different modes, "true hands free" and "assisted driving". true hands free where you don't have to touch the steering wheel but have to keep your eyes forward is only available on select/supported roads (like interstates). assisted driving is where you have to keep your hands in some form of contact with the wheel. the assisted driving drives the same way as the hands free does with the main difference being contact with the steering wheel. you can tell which mode its in by how it prompts you and the icon. hands free driving shows the hand icons not touching the wheel and assisted driving shows the hands touching the wheel.

I have both issues discussed. The green lights don’t turn on when it goes “Hands Free”. They will briefly flash green then go white. Dash and head up display show the “Hands Free” active.

I also did not have the animated headlights but last night it all of a sudden started working. Only have seen it when remote started.

I don’t think mine shows anything about hands free in the heads up display? But that may also be a setting I need to change in terms of what is show in the heads up. Seems super quirky in terms of what you see with the hands free lighting but if that’s the only issue I have I’m good with it. Still easy to see when you’re in hands free or not and they work at night still too.
