So I got to try out the hands free driving today. Works great. Love it. The only issue that I had was I thought the lights around the instrument cluster switched from white to green when I can use hands free. Mine switches from white to nothing. Is that normal? It is supposed to be green, correct?

If I remember correctly - the green happens on the highway - when GPS is also guiding the truck ..... if/when just white - its in lane keeping mode so keeps you between the lines, but not the same as full hands free where you can use the signal and it will change lanes when clear etc ..... basically full hands free is adaptive cruise control + lane keep + GPS guidance.

What did the bottom right of your dash show. Even if it glitched and did not turn green on the sides I would think that would have still shown you were in hands free and green on the dash. The other white option is for non mapped roads where it still drives for you but you have to keep your hand on the wheel but it does all the steering.

It showed green hands off on dash and on heads up display but white lights around cluster went dark, not green. It steered and switched lanes for me

Yea that’s what I thought. I was on the interstate. Truck went completely hands off, showed the hands off on the instrument panel and heads up display. Switched lanes for me when I turned the turn signal on, but lights did not turn green on outside of instrument panel. Went from white to nothing.

Covers the detail in page 195 of manual … some criteria for it to go into full ADA mode … white likely denotes unknown road (there a new overpass in my area on the highway … I’ll be green and good … till i hit that 1 mile section of new of new highway )

I am currently experiencing the same issue... Based on the Drivers Manual for Hands Free, the dash should glow green on the sides and glow white when in ADA mode.

Attaching some photos to show dash glowing white in ADA mode, nothing glowing in hands free, & an image of what is supposed to happen when glowing green.

Mine is doing the same thing. Wonder if there is an easy fix.

UPDATE: Think I have found the solution. Mine was doing the same until tonight. I happened to use the dash light dimmer controls & turned down the brightness just one click to where the map would change to the dark colors while I was in hands free mode and the green lights turned on!!!

Double checked that when brightness is turned up the green lights turn off… so it has to be a default brightness setting but still makes no sense why the white lights turn on regardless in ADA mode.
