HUD ‘hack’ - turn by turn nav.

Not really a hack but I was playing around with the hud and found out a neat trick with the turn by turn navigation.

Settings:
Turn on HUD display
Set it to Custom display and edit it.
On the center screen, only add the turn by turn nav and save it.

Result:
When a navigation route is active, the upcoming turn is displayed when there is less than a mile left before the turn. If no route is active then the screen is blank and the hud appears to be off or at most displays the street name as a single line of text.
Now I can leave the hud on to only see the turn by turn displayed in the hud.
