Current Ride #2
98 GMC
Well I made a huge leap and stepped into a new RHO. Thing is a spaceship inside. Knowing well what I was doing but feel I'm taking a chance here.

Never owned a luxury vehicle, It's quite amazing. Traded in a 2017 Ram 2500 Tradesman and 2022 RCSB Ram express. The express was a hard let go with 5.7, 4X4 with bucket seats. Still have three other vehicles in two 1995 Wranglers and 1998 Sierra. Time to downsize. Way to much maintenance.

All that to say high. Came here to learn. I'm not a mod guy but like to do my own mechanical work... not sure the RHO is something I need to be working on. Feel every bolt has a senser.

I like that you call it a “luxury vehicle”. When I bought mine, I considered it a capable desert running pickup.

Last weekend, sat in the new Lexus GX550. Boy, did it feel cheap inside. Lots of plastic (soft touch, but a cheap looking grain). It was a $75K MSRP vehicle, marked up to $125K with a bunch of dealer installed “upgrades”.

Had to step up to the $110K MSRP LX600 before it felt as luxurious as my Ram interior. Sounds crazy, but it’s true.

Good luck with yours. Keep a warranty on it. It’s a complex beast!

Yea thanks. I'm not use to having carpet in a vehicle. Both my parents drive GMC ultimate and a navigator. I would consider these luxury vehicles and they are a step behind the RHO.

The amount of electronics is insane. This is my first vehicle I have ever paid for a warranty. Good one though at 125K miles no years.

My Service Coordinator called the RHO a "4x4 Baja Computer."

I found that statement quite accurate...

I don't know how close you are to a RAM Service Center/Dealer, but get to know them.

My Service Center is <9 miles from my home.

I'm on a first-name basis with my Service Coordinator and even have his private cell number. He gave it to me after I dropped off a pound+ of leftover tri-tip I smoked for a family BBQ. Nothing gets you "in" like free, good food.

EDIT: I forgot: The woman who doles out the loaner vehicles at the dealer collects rubber ducks. I asked my 11-year-old daughter (her nickname is Lil' Duck) if she had a duck I could give away. The woman was so surprised and elated at this gesture, my loaner was a 2025 Tungsten with <4000 miles.

Do small, kind things for folks who don't expect it, and you will be astounded by how well it pays you back.

My theory is that if I'm willing to pay $100K+ (*after financing) for a truck, I'm going to take it to them for EVERYTHING I find wrong with it.

Case in point: The Trailer Braking Module died and needed replacement. The service tech scratched the crap out of one the rear underseat trip pieces and marked up a 4-inch section of the red trim on the driver's rear door card.

RAM is replacing both.

Ha! We do this on jobsites. Little sweet talking and some kolaches. Makes life easier In and out.

Reading this forum is depressing but I have patience. Wanted something different this for sure this fills the bill.

Us pain in the ass humans, like to complain about shit that goes wrong... It's in our nature.

In the retail environment, one person will share a positive experience with nine others.

BUT.....

One person will share a negative experience with 16 to 20 other people.

Don't get too wrapped up about the posts here, forums like this make the bad seem MUCH WORSE.

This forum is a super-concentration of RHO enthusiasts (AKA Fan-Boys & Fan Girls) ( I'm gonna get a beating for that statement! :ROFLMAO: )

We've 1347 individuals here, many of whom have been here since before the first RHO rolled down the assembly line. We're all reasonably familiar with each other, so we bitch, moan, and complain.

Yes, some folks have had HORRIBLE experiences with their new $70,000+ truck. I get almost as upset as they are when I read what they are going through.

BUT, most of us have had annoying, temporary issues that pissed us off, made us complain here.... ...but were eventually fixed.

Buy what you want.

If it's an RHO, join us here, and know that your truck gives you membership to complain or praise your RHO, RAM, Stellantis, etc., as often as you want.

Well said. And remember these are first world issues. There’s an awful lot of people out there than don’t even have $70k trucks to have a problem with

I feel you take a risk with any new vehicle now a days. I would much rather deal with issues with my "dream" truck than a regular "whatever" car or truck. I've had some issues and still do (mostly electrical) but I still look forward to driving it every single time. I'm at about 8k miles already and every time I drive it feels like the first time. I have the MF exhaust on mine, so it makes it much more exciting. This is also my first "high end/luxury" vehicle, I come from a 2019 F-150 STX and I don't regret a single thing. Love the RHO.

The forum is mostly doom and gloom, where people come to post their grievances. Rho is a killer. Don't hesitate . Anytime I get anxiety from this forum I go touch some grass and drive my RHO and it brings me back to reality with so much joy. Lol

True on the risk. Why I usually buy basic but always something little different. My "daily" is a 98 Z71 RCSB that I took the body off and rebuild suspension. Basic, simple and I can work on it. This RHO was an impulse.

Anyway, love it so far. Silly quick. Absolutely gorgeous inside and out. The ride is like nothing ever driven before. Dude, just picked up groceries and drove home getting a back message with cool air blown on my tush. Mean, come on... it shines a RAM logo on the ground. Every day has been what's next?
