When someone removes their hood badge for whatever the reason, please let me know how it goes. I want to plasti dip mine as I can’t stand the look of it now (all black truck OCD). Want to pop it off myself my nervous ill screw it up so hoping someone else does it first. 🤣

Let me know!

Why do you need to pop it off to plastidip it? I've done my emblems a couple of times and I just mask a small area around the emblem, spray some layers on and then peel the part on the paint off of the truck. Maybe I'm missing something here . . .

Look on ebay for replacement hood badges to see how they are held on. Pretty sure they are just 3M with perhaps guide holes in the sheet metal. Heat gun and fishing line should do the trick.

Not missing anything. My preference is to not spray the emblem while on my truck. The coverage around the edges is much better when pulling off. Have done it both ways, this is the way to do it right.

This is a good call.

Already purchased and installed!
What method did you use to remove the old ones? I have my new badges ready to install. Thanks in advance.

I would think heat gun and fishing line will do.. it will have pins on the other side so might have to use some plastic pryer as well

I was thinking the same thing, but seeing if what he learned doing it. In any case, I'll know soon enough because I'm doing my hood and grille now.

Ok, here it is... My @BigRay crack installed 😂. Easy to do. Heat gun and a plastic trim tool gently lifted them off (the OEM badges to have alignment pins). Removed residual double-sided tape. Applied alcohol and then adhesion promoter. Boom, I'm Exotic Innovated! Thanks for nice pieces Ray.

Yes, my truck is filthy, but I showed anyway. Don't judge me.

Easy! Heat it with a heat gun and pry it off gently. The adhesive is good, the badge is pretty flimsy and has alignment pins. Take your time and it comes right off without a hitch.

do the aftermarket grille emblems have the pins as well? also are they totally flat or they copy the slight curvature of the grille?

Aftermarket has no pins just adhesive. Each individual letter sits flat on its respective mounting location.
