Incentives for Small Business Owners

I was recently talking with a dealer about a RHO purchase and he asked if I was a small business owner. That was the first time I’ve been asked that by a dealer so it got me curious if there are any applicable Ram incentives for being a small business owner. I do own a LLC.

One other aspect I’ve not explored is purchasing the vehicle through my LLC. I’d need to gain a lot of clarity through an accountant to understanding the pros and cons of going this route, or if it’s even applicable in my situation. My business is not in a construction trade where I’d use the vehicle primarily for business purposes, though certainly some percentage of my use would be business related.

Also, I do have a personal trade for when I complete my purchase. That vehicle is not owned by my business, which I assume makes things even trickier.

Just curious what questions I should be considering prior to completing my purchase.

I ordered mine under LLC. But be careful I just got denied the Ford Conquest, apparently if you have Ford it has to be registered under the company too, not just address (household)..

I will use it mainly for business although like 20% will be personal.

Section 179 deduction is main reason I went with truck over 6000lbs. Very creative way to write it off. Depending on your tax bracket it can save you a lot of $$$ in taxes

No Ram incentives. Like stated before, if used for "work purposes" it can be a write off.

The trade in shouldn't complicate anything.

Doesn't have to be a construction business.

The best thing to do is to ask your accountant/tax preparer for the details on your specific situation.

On RHO currently there are no business-sale incentives. That is something that exists, sometimes, but I have seen it MOST often on HD tradesmans. Even with that, it did not require the business be truck-reliant.

Thanks guys! I’ll work with the accountant on pros/cons for purchasing through my business, but really helpful to confirm there weren’t any Ram specific incentives for RHO at this time.
