Those who have installed the JB4 piggyback, was the install as easy as it looks? This will be my first time installing and just don’t want to take on too big of a project but seems very plug and play. Also, where did everyone zip tie/mount the box in the engine bay? Would love to see some pictures too!

It's plug and play for sure, hardest part is locating the proper connectors and disconnecting them if you've never done it before. I've installed more than 10 JB4's so I knock it out in about 10 mins now.

As far as mounting I don't even remember where I put it, but I always use strong double sided adhesive to stick it to something. I then use small zip ties to clean up the wiring and secure it.

I will look into the double sided adhesive that’s a good idea and then clean up the wires with the zip ties👍🏼

Any members with a 3D printer could do us a solid lol

I kind of let the wiring dictate where things would land. I think that the way I did mine me it came out clean and pretty much undetectable once the cover is back on. I’ve hand zero issues with the JB4 mounted where it is at and the Bluetooth works flawlessly.

Looks clean but I'd personally be a little worried about how hot that thing is getting under there long term.
Yeah I was thinking the same but anywhere under the hood is going to be hot especially on the drivers side. This area here is actually being cooled down by the oncoming air from the electric fan and as the truck is moving. I have checked it after a good drive and it’s not really hot. Been about a month like this, so I’m going to say it’s fine where it’s at and have had no issues out of it even after hard back to back runs with it. This JB4 is built right👍🏽

I temporarily zipped tied mine to the water reservoir. Need to go back and decide on a permanent spot.

Not trying to throw shade but using zip ties on a $80K vehicle kills me. I’ve handmade brackets on a shitbox Nissan before using zip ties. A 3D printed mount that allows the use of a bolt would be ideal.

"temporarily"

Here’s a photo of mine.

Gotta be honest though.. not many people are going to like my solution. I did it at the same location as IGM Auto which is on the side of the cover. Instead of double side taping it, I drilled two small holes and put a screw with nut on the other side for the two top holes. It’s very secure and I don’t have to worry about the tape melting or anything or having the look of zip ties there.

I am planning on buying a used cover on eBay or wherever in case I do need to take it to the dealer so I don’t have the holes on the side. But that’s how I mounted mine.

What is the JB4 ? Is it a tuner? If I may ask.
