Lots of BMW people in here

Been here since pretty early on and noticed there is a ton of guys with BMW. Makes sense with it being a high end vehicle forum and also the Hurricane is very similar. My question to all of you BMW guys, im looking at getting another fast car to go with the RHO, the new M2 seem very compelling for the money. Or m3/m4 for that matter. DO any of you have one or an opinion? How do you like them?

I have never owned a BMW but my dad had an early M5 when i was a kid and it was my favorite car he had. One downside ( at least for Montana) to the m2 is RWD and not as great in the snow vs. say the M3/M4 xdrive that is awd. Some of my favorite youtubers absolutely love these new BMW so it scratched my curiosity. I love how they look, the interiors, handling and the performance metrics. Would just be used for drives and going fast with the wife on mountain drives until i can afford a GT3RS. LOL.

I love BMW, but I can't stand the styling of the current generation - the front ends look like angry, yelling bugs. I'm waiting patiently for the next generation.

With that said, my 2020 BMW X5M was my favorite interior and driving experience of any car I've owned.

the new styling is definitely either hate or love! I hated the G80 styling at first but it really has grown on me over the year, to the point where i would own one. I like it a bit more now. The g87 is mean in my opinion but can totally see how polarizing it is. I hear for 2026 they are releasing an awd m2 so maybe thats the move. The Blue color is amazing IMO.

I am also patiently awaiting the return of Donington Gray. It is by far my favorite color on a vehicle, ever. Here's hoping for next gen.

My wife got an X1 in the fall. Our first non-domestic car. She was tired of her 2019 Rubicon. The X1 has the M performance package on it. Base engine (turbo 4cyl). With that being said, it does really scoot for a little "chic car"! The fit and finish are top notch. Handling is phenomenal, it rides like it's on rails. Fast for what it is. I don't particularly care for the looks of it, but she loves it! A lot of tech on it; the dealer said it's more computer than car. Haha. No issues whatsoever with it so far.
With that being said, I wouldn't hesitate at this point to get another. The X5M Competition is calling my name!!

The latest BMW styling is evolving to Neue Klasse, which is a modernization of older BMW styling. It works on some cars. Terrible & awkward on others.

A coming high point…the next Gen M3 (2026 release date). It’s going to make just about all sports & super cars feel like Stone Age vehicles from the Flintstones. The styling is a modern interpretation of the 2002. It will use 6th Gen BMW battery tech (AKA: Tesla style, non-prismatic cells). Cheaper to produce, more precision in the assembly process, easier to thermally manage.

I know…who wants an electric vehicle? This sucker will put out over 1000HP with max torque available at 1 RPM…not 1K RPM, but massive max torque from standstill.

And, no mechanical differentials. Each wheel/tire will have its own motor. No waiting for a downshift. No waiting for the engine to spin up to max torque or HP. All that power will be available as fast as you can put your foot down.

Yes, given they are anticipating a forged CF monocoque chassis, it’s going to be $$$$. But likely less than $150K, to start.

Have you thought about getting a Tesla Model3 performance ? Much cheaper and faster than M series! 0-60 in 2.9s. Currently they are running 0%APR promo as well.

I moved from BMW (E90 M3, F10 M5, F13 M6, and F82 M4) to Porsche 911 (991.2 and now 992) now.

I much prefer this brand from Stuttgart over my previous Munich motorcars.

M3 all day man, wicked fast! Pics from when we picked up our order. M5 is great but not as agile/nimble.

Love mine, 1 of 500 and only 50 in techno violet 2023 M3 Comp XDrive Jahre Edition. Its a blast to drive and handles very well. You can also switch to RWD through the radio settings.

BTW, old college buddy is a long-time BMW enthusiast who currently owns a ‘24 M4 Comp Convert. He uses it as a daily. While he can make any ride feel like an F1 race in Monaco (he’s a driver), as a mid-50s guy, he often prefers to chill & just crank the tunes.

So, he test drive a Model 3 Performance. A bit much of a “status” step-down from a $100K BMW M-car, he also drove a Model S. He was SOLD, until the trade valuation came back. In 12 months & 10K miles, he’d take a $34K hit! The used car market has not received the M3/4 grille with any love. Let’s “face it”, it’s a face only a mother (or devote M-enthusiast) could love. Ha!

holy cow fellas, this thread has me drooling. You guys have some amazing cars and made me want an m3 that much more. Ill for sure be on the look out for a G80 m3 competition with xdrive. Ultimate Montana sports car. Ill have my eyes peeled at barret jackson this next year.
