I have an appointment this Tuesday for xpel ceramic tint, and I want to go as dark as possible on the sunroof. What is the darkest I can go safely for the roof? Shop says 20%, and I have no reason to doubt them, but I wanted to see if anyone has gone darker successfully. They say it is due to the expansion of the glass, too much and it could break, that would be a hell of a surprise rolling down the freeway!

I have limo 5 on mine..

I have 2 films of 5 on mine 😂

My shop told me the exact same thing. I have not done it yet, appointment is in April.

Why push it? It's got a cover if you really don't want light coming in...

Only because I would like to have the cover open more, would be great to be able to leave it open all the time. Just curious if others have gone a little darker without issue

Depends on the film and percentage. Ceramic absorbs more of the heat and the darker the film adds to it. I have never seen, had or heard of one breaking yet and have had all of my vehicles done and the shop has done countless. Throw a 15% ceramic on it and call it a day

I have 15% ceramic on mine and it’s perfect. Light comes through, but no heat.

I put 20% XPEL prime XR plus on mine last week. So far so good.

I put a bunch of photos in the “what did you do to your RHO today” thread if you want to see what it all looks like.
