Hey everyone-

I ordered my 2025 RHO back in April 2024, before I had the chance to see many of the options in person. I ended up going with the tow mirrors. After a few months and a few hundred miles, I’m realizing I’m just not loving the experience mainly due to the significant blind spots I’m experiencing. I think part of it is that I frequently switch between different vehicles, and adjusting to the tow mirrors has been tricky. I feel that I'd get used to the mirrors if I only drove the RHO.

That said, I do think they look great from the outside, and the integrated cameras are a nice touch.

I have a few questions I’m hoping someone here might be able to help with:
  1. Can I switch to the regular mirrors now?
  2. If so, are the standard mirrors plug-and-play, or would this require a dealership reprogramming or other adjustments?
  3. Since I selected all available tow-related options when ordering, would removing the tow mirrors cause any compatibility issues with those features?
  4. Has anyone tried aftermarket mirror options like these: (Powered Heated Memory Power Folding Mirrors with Blind Spot Detection, Puddle Lights, Temperature Sensor and Turn Signal; Textured Black) and if so, any feedback?
I searched around but couldn’t find solid answers to these specific questions. If any relevant threads already exist, feel free to drop a link, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks!

I won't say it hasn't happened, but I doubt anyone has switched from tow mirrors to regular so far. I was just thinking to myself not half an hour ago that the tow mirrors do actually create a bit of a blind spot when looking out the front windows. But I also agree that they just look right on the RHO with the wide body and all.

I would think that you could probably switch them out without too much hassle but you would likely lose any features associated with them. I don't believe it would really affect much with the towing options other than the blind spot cameras. But things like the forward facing spot lights and reverse lights on the mirrors obviously would go away if installing the regular OEM mirrors. And those thing help out A LOT when backing at night.....I use them all the time backing into the driveway after dark myself to make sure I'm not putting a tire off the concrete and onto my new sod.

After having a loaner with tow mirrors for a month, if my RHO had them, I would have ponied up the money to swap them. The blind spot is the worst I’ve experienced in a vehicle. I couldn’t live with it day to day.

Have tow mirrors. Absolutely love them. I’m used to tow mirrors coming from a 2500 Cummins. There is a blind spot around the A pillar. On the flip side they show you everything from the front doors back. Plus the integrated cameras work like a charm with the Uconnect screen.
The only way to know for certain is to find the plug for your mirrors and compare to another. You may be able to simply swap units if they use the same plug (which I bet it does). HOWEVER, the tow mirrors have the ability to move inward and outward as well as folding. The mirror control buttons on the door panel reflect this feature. The standard mirrors appear to be a fixed length. Thus if you have tow mirrors and swap to standard, you’ll have additional buttons inside that cannot be used.

The tow mirrors are AWESOME!!! Some complain about the blind spot, but really, once you get used to them, you dont even notice.

And if you EVER tow anything more than a lawnmower or a little jet ski, you will NEED them.

I could not imagine towing our 23' boat with the dinky little factory mirrors. It would be hell and dangerous honestly. There is a reason tow mirrors exist. :)

And IMO, they look bitching on the RHO...they just fit the body style sooo much better!!

Do the regular mirrors not have the blind spot camera that integrates into the infotainment. I test drive the an RHO with the mirrors. I won't be towing with it so didn't feel I needed them. But I did like the blind spot camera. I asked the salesman and he said he "thought" it was part of the level 1 package. Not exclusive to the tire mirrors. Is that incorrect? If so, if get the tow mirrors just for that integrated camera view down the side of the truck.

Part of tow package only.

Yes you can only have it with tow mirrors.

I’m eventually gonna swap my regular mirrors for tow mirrors. I regularly tow a 16 ft cargo trailer and sometimes a 30 ft boat trailer and it’s hell with the standard mirrors 😳
