Hey guys just wanted to see how everyone is preventing door dings other than parking away from everyone. Should be picking my truck up this week, just waiting to hear back from dealership. I have the power running boards so I will probably be deploying them when I park away from everyone just to discourage anyone parking beside me. Also I know some bought the off road running boards for this very reason. How are they doing? Does anyone have PPF on the doors and if so has it helped? Anyone have anything creative like a molding strip?

My 1st TRX I went with power running boards and kept them deployed when parked it worked well but really for cars only. Truck doors are higher off the ground so they tend to open higher than the power boards. My second TRX I went with the off road style running boards and I did feel they worked better because they sat higher to the body.

Love my running boards for this very reason. I would say park straight and between the lines. Park next to vans and avoid parking next to beater cars

Yeah, the running boards work well... (My disabled veteran plates help too! :ROFLMAO: )

second reason I put running boards on the truck.. I went with OEM but if you want more protection consider the RB20's as those are another inch wider and you can pull them out a bit as when installing

I’ve had fixed running boards on my 2020 Laramie and not a single door ding on my truck doors. I’ve personally encountered a few people smoke their door into my running boards… and I loved it each time.

That said, I have 2 door dings behind the rear doors where the running boards terminate. Believe it or not, both of those came from my own kids opening my wife’s car door into the garage. I’m more concerned about this with the wider fenders on the RHO

Yeah the running boards in combination with good mud flaps does a great job with the protection

I’ve got the factory running boards. They appear to stick out further than the side of the truck but honestly, I don’t think they are up high enough to really prevent much unless it’s a sports car.

Running boards, and just parking far away from any other vehicles

I just take up 2-4 spots in no mans land. Everyone else can stay far far away from the truck of kings in their door dinged peasant mobiles. LOL.
