Random to some but high value off road truck comparison

When my truck was waiting for a software flash that was never coming for the safety system faults, I considered the 2025 F250 Tremor.

Bottom line, I loved the Godzilla over the Hurricane, despite the poor fuel economy. It felt & sounded like a full-size pickup engine should feel & sound. Effortless with a deep exhaust rumble.

But, the seats in the F-250 are optimized for drivers under 6’ tall. I’m 6’2” & my shoulder blades were pushed forward by the top of the seat, causing my shoulders to hunch forward. Those seats were killing my back in under 45 minutes! And, I don’t have a bad back.

I’m at 5+K miles on my RHO & still am not a fan of the Hurricane. It does NOT feel like an I6 Cummins diesel, as you mentioned in the video. The Cummins, which I’ve owned in a 2500, is over 6 liters. The little 3 liter Hurricane can’t compete with that level of grunt. But, the Hurricane is getting better & better fuel economy as miles accumulate. I’m seeing 20 mpg on level sections of highway, which is new.

Its awesome we have so many different options available for us. I am 6'0 tall and my 23 Lariat F-350 seats were awesome we did 10k miles of towing our 5th wheel with it. Those seats are softer than the RHO in the lariat from 2023...but the messaging seats in the RHO are incredible. The hurricane how it shifts in lower gears it reminds me just like the 19 cummins I had in 1st through third with TC lock up when driving normal...engine breaking on Hurricane and all gas boosted engines is non existent. I look forward to seeing what Ford does to answer back on RHO in the future...they have a big hill to climb to out beat the Ram RHO for bang for the buck!

You talk about sound and grunt but absolutely no mention of the fact that the RHO would absolutely smoke either of those trucks in the power and speed department? Not to mention how much more capable off-road it is.

The f250 Tremor alone is down 110hp and weighs what? 900lbs more?

All valid points, and I'm not trying to be a smart-ass or rude whatsoever but if you're all about sound of a V8 or the grunt of a Cummins, then you probably shouldn't have bought an RHO because you're not the target buyer.

Yeah…I hear what you are saying. The RHO is an overall great package, but the engine leaves me cold. It tries too hard & feels “frenzied” when all I want to do is merge into highway traffic.

My automotive formative years involved Trans Ams, Camaro Z28, Corvettes and Mustangs. I’ve owned only a few 6 cylinder vehicles since getting my driver’s license, only one (M3) made me happy. My vehicle before the RHO was a V8 BMW. Before that, a V8 (Hemi) Ram R/T.

Life with a vehicle is NOT all about 0-60. If that’s all that mattered, we’d all be driving EVs.

I needed a vehicle to get me to any hiking trail my wife could find. That could mean miles of forest service roads, desert washes & occasionally, deep sand. Hence, the RHO purchase.

Who exactly is the target buyer for RHO & what vehicle might suit me better? I really want your opinion, sir!

Who exactly is the target buyer for RHO

Someone who is concerned with 0-60 times :ROFLMAO: (and going fast off road, not just forest service roads). It's a "Baja" truck after all.

There's really not much of another reason to have 540hp.

I'm coming from a 2022 Rebel with the Hemi, and when I test drove a RHO it absolutely shits all over my Hemi in everything except the sound department. I personally felt way more "grunt" when that thing threw my ass back in the seat. Not to mention how much smoother the transmission was.

To each his own, I hope your RHO grows on you and you end up being happy with your purchase!

540 HP for 0-60 & throwing your ass back into the seat. In a 6000+lb lifted pickup on 35s?

That’s the RHO target market.

Oooh Kaaay…yeah, that’s not me.

I appreciate your insight. Really. Cheers.

Whatever, you're obviously offended lol. Sorry to have hurt your feelings. I'm happy with my purchase, I wish you could have said the same instead of hanging around here complaining how other trucks are so much better. Should have bought another truck, then.

I have a video coming soon compairing the HO hurricane to the HO Ecoboost when towing...Some differences for sure...but the power towing for passing speed with HO Hurricane is awesome.

I think I am close to 7k miles towing now with the HO Hurricane!...MPGS just keep getting better!
