Curious what registration costs are by state. I'm in Montana and paid $650 to register my RHO, with cool plates. i know MT is one of the cheapest states, lets see the damage.

361 in Florida, DV plates. A car for us here is waived or cheaper but not the RHO. Not sure if I pay less because they were DV plates or if 361 is the price in Florida.

Damn dude! even $650 has me wanting to keep the truck about 3 years before ordering another. LOL
It’s a nuts for sure. It goes down each year, but still!

Over 1k in Colorado, they make u pay a specific use tax, but if u get exempt from it it’s like 125 bucks

$120 in OK with specialty plate.
Although we pay our tax at time of registration, instead of at the dealership.
Tax on vehicles is only 3.5% instead of 8%.

Roughly $75/yr here in Texas. But custom plates get pricey. Mine for 5 years were $570

Had a credit from previous truck but roughly $80 every 2 years in NY.

Over $1,000 in California. I was paying $265 per year for a 2003 Tacoma. Good lord when I see that typed out it really stings

Damn, crazy fluctuation. I'm sure most states get you with the sales tax on buying it. Thank god MT has no sales tax but one of the least affordable states to live in.

Yeah sales tax on vehicles in TX is 6.25% but if you have a trade-in, you only pay the tax difference between the trade-in amount and the amount "owed" on the new vehicle because you've already paid tax on the old vehicle.

Read em and weep, boys.

Kansas:
Registration: $40
Motor Vehicle Property Tax: $1003
Sales Tax: 9.475% (delta new - trade in value). Mine was $4161
Brutal. 😵‍💫

OUCH!! That Montana LLC is calling your name brother.....LOL
They are cracking down on MT plates. Montana has more exotic registered cars than Washington (Seattle). I read an article that said Montana averages 2.1 cars per person going by registration numbers lol

Not surprised whatsoever. Almost every exotic i see has montana plates and has never seen montana once. barely a million people live in this state. Hilarious. Big gov mad as hell.
