Does the spare have a TPMS? If not, will adding one confuse the truck? I always do a five tire rotation on my Wrangler. Its computer recognizes which tire is in which corner within a few miles. 3000 mile trip next week and want to get oil changed and do tires rotation before I go. Already at 4000 on truck.

You personally moved your spare and saw this first hand? I know the TRX guys said theirs did not have one. I would love to do a 5 tire so I hope it has one now.

Ummm . . . did you just say 3000 mile trip?? I guess you aren't having any issues with your truck!

Can anyone else confirm or deny that our trucks come with TPMS in the spare?

I had a minor wheel vs curb happen, and since we have full wheel and tire spares i switched them out and the TPMS is working fine. Did i break the bead and visually verify the sensor was installed ?? No. i can only assume it’s in there
But hey you can always crawl under your truck drop your spare and check for yourself

Very true… was leaning towards the side of being lazy. Still a few thousand away from needing to rotate but when I do rotate I will do a 5 tire and hope for the best.

4000 miles so far and no issues. Praying it stays that way.

I finally found the full owners manual and it states the spare, when matching, can be rotated in a five tire rotation. I’m taking that to assume it does work like a jeep with five sensors and it learns which ones are on the wheels that are turning on the truck soon after rotation is done.

I finally did my 5 tire rotation and was a bit nervous when I saw the spare had stickers saying spare tire and it had a different valve stem. Strange they would use a different valve stem but it does appear to be TPMS since my dash is updating. On a side note the winch to raise and lower the spare works fantastic compared to other trucks I have owned.

 🍻

Well that was short lived. Did 3 drives and it seemed to be updating just fine. Today I go out and the TPMS comes on at the spare tire location. Thought it strange it had a different valve stem but was working so maybe some people got lucky but level 1 spare that was marked with a sticker saying spare does not have tpms

Where did you find the full owners manual? I heard it doesn't have a physical book. Is that correct?

Well I tried the 5 trre rotation, guess the spare is a spare. It had the stickers on it too, but figured I would try.

You can just have them install a TPM on the spare right?

Level 1; No TPMS in the spare, Dealer wasn't sure if truck was able to accept a 5th TPMS and are looking into it for me. Coming from a Jeep and doing 5 tire rotations and seeing a full size matching spare I am disappointed in that kind of cost savings on a $85K Truck.

Same here, my F150 had a full size with TPMS and it was no issue when rotating. Keep us updated on what your dealer says.
