Anyone get one of these? It said the event occurred yesterday at 12P, but the email came exactly 24 hours later. Odd, no?

Had one of those on wife's car few weeks ago. App notification and email right away. She went to check in garage at work and all was normal.

I called the dealer. Was told if battery runs down, it can cause a false theft alert.

Since my RHO is on its 3rd set of batteries, this makes sense. Guessing the 3rd set is getting weak.

Wow 3rd set?

Yes, if you include the original factory batteries that were replaced during PDI, as they would not charge to sufficient voltage.

Seems these batteries have caused so many issues, if you have any electrical gremlins whatsoever, the 1st thing they do is replace the batteries. I wonder who is going to pay for those once out of warranty?

Just kidding….I know who is gonna pay.

Just kidding….I know who is whether the batteries were bad and causing issues, or if the problem was with the software draining the batteries?
Do you know whether the batteries were bad and causing issues, or if the problem was with the software draining the batteries?

For me it was software. The night it happened to me where I woke up to a dead battery I got an email saying theft had been activated which lead me to look at my ring camera. When I looked at the camera I saw that my puddle lights that write ram on the ground came on for over 4 hours and killed my battery. I was able to charge mine and I have had zero issues since.

Per the dealer, there is likely a bad computer module that repeatedly wakes up all 70 computers in the truck because it can’t sense a response from the other modules. He says that’s really tough on the batteries.

It was software? You charged the batteries, but did that update the software?

Glad you have had zero issues since!!!

I think what happened to me was a software glitch where something did not report back correctly and caused the trucks computer to not shut off. I highly doubt I got any updates that caused the issue. 99% of computer problems fix themselves after a reboot.
