I’ve been having some trouble with the tailgate. When I first got the truck the feature where you lightly lift the tailgate and it closes itself worked fine. Now, no matter how far up i take it with my hand, it falls down it doesn’t go up. It closes fine from the side button or the key though so I’d think it’s not a sensor issue. Anyone else experience this?

Unfortunately I don't have a solution but I do have this as well so you're not alone. Mine usually works after the 2nd or 3rd attempt but I would say it's sensitive in how soft/hard you lift it up. All other buttons that lift up the tailget works so I'm not too bothered by it

If you lift it from the side where the button is I notice it works everytime for me. And yes on the side of the tailgate there is a button. Seems like most people don’t know that.

Same here. It seems like the tailgate is VERY specific on how much force it likes you to use to start its self closing process. Since I found the button on the driver side of the tailgate, that’s all I use anymore.

Lol shame to say it took me almost a month to realize there was a button on side of tailgate. I was a little frustrated at first dancing my fingers around the tailgate or bruising my knee to get it consistently lifted up in first try. Seeing that button was almost happy like the day I got my truck

Same. Did not know about the button until I read it on here!

I didn't know you could lift it to start closing. Still unsure why I would choos this over the button, but good to know, I guess.

The key fob, interior button and the handle itself are three other ways to close and open the tailgate

Yeah I forgot to close it after removing things today from the bed and used the button inside the cab. This thing is just as luxurious as our Mercedes. And truth be told, it’s a 100% better.

Anyone need a nice 4 door sedan? Lol
