Hey y’all!

Noticed this today. Mind you we’ve never taken our truck off road or hit a curb so not sure how this appeared. It’s not losing air but do you think this would be covered under road hazzard?

It “seems” fairly deep.

It looks like a road hazard-type issue to me. I'd definitely run it past a technician.

Get that replaced asap! Hopefully warranty

Thanks guys!!

As soon as we bought the truck I took it to Discount Tire to buy the Road Hazzard warranty. By the way I bought that warranty from them for every tire purchase and new car I've bought and never used it.

I brought it there this morning and as soon as they saw it, they said yup, ordering you a new one.

Will have a new tire within the week. That tire cost more than than the warranty and the lifetime balancing I bought for the truck. :)

Not a fan of Discount Tire. Bought their hazard warranty (insurance) for a new Z06 Corvette in 2015. Cost $335. Two months later, wife driving & ran over a bolt in the road that punctured the rear tire. Needed a new $600 tire. They offered to refund the $335 warranty because they claimed Chevy released a TSB that only GM dealers could replace those tires.

Needless to say, no TSB existed except that proper equipment & care was needed due to the width of the tire/rim assemble. DT had the right equipment. They were hoping to circumvent the $600 tire cost. What they tried to do to my wife was highly illegal.

Can you imagine your car insurance company offering to refund your $600 auto insurance premium after you total a $90,000 truck? That’s what DT was doing.

So, I stay away from DT & will always share that experience.

Discount Tire is the best. Their certs have saved me thousands over a few cars. Zero issues or questions asked.

You can purchase a warranty from them on tires that they didn’t sell you? Or did you have them put on a different set of tires?

You can have them warranty any tires as long as they meet safety specs. Probably costs more than if you bought them there, but they will do it.

Edit: it does need to be a tire they carry, obviously, or else they wouldn't be able to replace it.

Thanks. I didn’t know that.

Yes sir as @MattH89 said, as long as they carry the tire and they are in spec they will sell you the warranty.

Ouch! Sorry that happened to you. I have had nothing but great experiences with them. I even ordered my custom made American Racing wheels from them as they were offering a black Friday discount and the wheels were not excluded so I saved big $$$.

Just like anything else, it's going to be highly dependent on the actual humans working there. Corporate policy can be one thing, but boots on the ground is what makes the difference. The one I go to has always been amazing and the people are great.

The last time I was there they put the new wheels on the RHO and the tech came out and thanked me for letting him work on the truck. Definitely some good apples.

Does anyone know if the trim rings(faux beadlocks) need to come off before taking the tire off?
