2025 RAM RHO
Hi everyone,

Like most of you, I was absolutely thrilled to get my new RAM RHO. I absolutely loved it for the two weeks I had it.

Just wanted to share my experience of a failure at exactly 2 weeks of owning the truck and about 800 miles in. I drove very reasonable for the break-in and tried to follow the recommendations in the manual.

I hit the throttle coming onto a freeway ramp for maybe 3 seconds and experienced the following:
  • ABS light
  • ESC light
  • Engine light
  • Front and rear crash avoidance lights
  • Numerous system failures called out on the dash.
  • Other symptoms included truck stuck in third gear, suspension went very rigid , loss of power, brake pedal went to the floor and had to stand on it to stop (scary), blind spot monitoring not working, cruise control not working, and probably other items I didn't notice.
I pulled the battery cable to reset everything. Everything cleared except for a U0418 code (invalid data received from brake system control module) that I cleared manually. Everything cleared up and was working fine at this point. The next day, about 24 hours later, the problem recurred and my hopes dashed.

Truck is now at the dealer with a STAR ticket pending. I trust them to do their work but I am so very disappointed at not having my truck! A risk I took I guess as an early adopter.

Not sure if anyone else has experienced these symptoms, but I'll be happy to share the fix once one is available.

I'll add this to the issues tracker this weekend.

sorry to hear this and similar (without the braking and gear issues you mentioned) situation fo rme on my first drive after delivery. truck is at the dealer and i will post updates here and share information.

I don’t understand how this even happens. It is like they didn’t test this new platform at all. I keep hoping with more time things get better but it seems we just keep hearing of more issues or new issues with these trucks. I know Chevy and ford have their issues but at least the manufacturers seem to know what is wrong and have done recalls to try and fix things. I wonder what it is going to take for ram to get their heads out of their ass and treat this issue seriously. Everyday I sign on thinking I will see some major news or fix or something…starting to believe it is just wishful thinking.

Right! Not a single word. We've had endless electrical gremlins, melted cats, blown motors, injectors stuck open, endless small QC issues, orders taking a year and guess what, not a single word from RAM....

At this point my truck has been in the shop for about 6 days. I got a call this morning stating that it could potentially be ready this evening. After after working with engineering they are doing a recalibration of the ABS. Evidently something was out of tolerance there and caused a cascading effect. I realize this is a little vague, but I'll get more information if I can. Fingers crossed that it will be ready today in a good working order. Really looking forward to getting it back.

Keep us in the loop. Good luck!

Well no go at the dealership. Once they completed the calibration the problem surfaced again. Something in regard to the brake booster but I don't have specifics at this time. Tomorrow they start ordering parts.

finally heard back from the service manager on my truck after being there all week with CEL that started on the same day I got my truck. they are replacing the 3 way coolant valve ( according to service department it is a 12V DC powered valve that controls coolant flow through the electric coolant heater) and have ordered the part. I'll update here after the repair as to whether or not that works.

Thank you for the update! My parts won't be in for 4 days so I am looking at the end of next week at the earliest. Basically I got the impression that they're following some type of fault isolation / decision tree for troubleshooting with Stellantis. If this fix doesn't work then I guess it's on to the next step. I wish you the best with yours and hope that they get it fixed for you next week.

Just wanted to share a quick update. My truck is still in shop. I believe that they've ordered a power brake booster and ABS module. They will be keeping the truck into next week to see if that resolves the problem. I'll share an update on the resolution if I get it back next week.

I hope everything gets resolved for you guys fast. I swear reading this forum it seems like every truck has issues. It's crazy. I've already contemplated canceling my order. Yet when you Google general reliability you see things like this. It's odd.

Despite what others say, most manufacturers are still getting their legs under them post COVID. That includes RAM, all their suppliers right down to the fuses. There are literally thousands of parts that can have a fault. To me, the mechanical portion seems extremely low. The consensus I see on this forum is electrical (software, harness, modules, etc…).

It's almost as if people who don't have issues don't create a thread every time they don't have an issue. Weird.

Lol so true. I just wish they would hop on and be like this thing has been kick ass today!!! But to be fair i rarely posted about my wrangler 392 when I was enjoying it. Fair point 😁

Thanks I'm hopeful I can get it fixed as well. I would not despair. In general, I've had an excellent track record with my Dodge/Ram trucks since 2001. My neighbor has a Grand Wagoneer for well over a year now with the same motor and has had not had any issues. Mechanically I don't think there's an issue with my truck, but definitely something electrical going on. One of the primary things that you're hearing on this forum is from folks who are having problems and looking to others to see if they are having similar issues in the hopes of finding a potential fix. I'm sharing any event that someone else is having something similar going on. Once they fix it, I'll rename the thread appropriately. Hopefully you get your order completed soon and everything works as it should!

Someone is going to die, then lawsuit ensues, then shit will get fixed…this is absolutely dangerous and reckless, these all need to be recalled immediately, lives are at risk.

Update - Got my truck back today, for about 15 min. The dealer replaced the power brake booster and anti-lock hydraulic control unit. Unfortunately, the brake light came on and I had to return it to the dealer. Now a new STAR ticket has to be created. At least the engine light is off now so maybe some progress. The truck has been with the dealer for about 18-days now. The dealer has been treating me right, but the Stellantis Customer Care is proving to be a challenge.

I called Stellantis/FCA Customer Care at 800-334-9200 to see if I could get a case manager to assist. My goal was to get some advocacy as I feel that 2.5 weeks for the limited amount of progress is too slow. I'm really wanting to keep the truck if at all possible, but am concerned that I am now getting into lemon territory with two attempts on a safety issue, not to mention 30-days coming up quick. Due to a bad past experience 22 years ago, which is another story altogether, I realize I'll be doing myself a favor by promptly requesting a buy back or replacement when I meet the criteria. Customer Care denied me a case manager after multiple calls. Rep #1 rep stated that they cannot influence the pace of the repairs at the dealership or the engineers and that they could not provide me with a case manager because I purchased it at an independently owned dealership vs a franchise. Rep 2 agreed with the Rep #1's assessment. I purchased the truck new at an authorized dealer so I called back a third time and got a different response. Rep #3 agreed that I did buy it at an authorized dealer and set me up with a callback tomorrow morning.

A second request was to get a postal address where I can send a certified letter to make my case in writing and request assistance with expediting the repairs to avoid a buy back or replacement request. On this I was denied by rep # 2 and #3. Rep #3 told me I would have to discuss it with the person that will call me back . All I wanted was a postal address, which after all of this frustration I found in the owners manual.

I'm not happy, but only have myself to blame. If only I had not traded my perfectly good truck. I wish I was one of those guys that doesn't give a crap about their vehicles, but unfortunately I just love them too much and I keep going back for more. This message has been therapeutic :)
