Someone mentioned whiskey, so naturally I'm all in.

I'll start. Been into whiskey for about 12 years but oddly enough started with single malt scotches. The last 5 years or so I've gotten way more into American whiskeys (bourbon, rye, wheat whiskeys, etc) and really gotten heavily into it the last two years or so.

Shelves are my American whiskeys. I think all but 2 are open because whiskey is meant to be drank and shared, not collected and looked at. Also have a shelf of backup bottles. My scotches sit in the whiskey barrel now.

I'd say lately I'm really into a return to basics after a run through trying all sorts of finished whiskeys.

Here's most of my collection. I'm sure there are a few bottles around the house I missed

Below is an actual Pappy 23 barrel we won from some sweepstakes with a couple of big-boy ER10's on top. Zero drops left inside the barrel

That's awesome. My barrel display is also a Pappy barrel though I don't know specifically which juice it held. I know it's a little weird to hold scotch in, but that's how the proportions shook out.

Not weird at all and it's pretty cool that it did hold Scotch.

We went to Scotland 2 years ago as I really wanted to learn more about it. I tried and tried, but I'll always go back to bourbon

Did learn a lot and had a great time tasting different juice from the different regions

Damn!!!!! @MattH89 and @cconnorhtx have some killer collections. I don't even drink, few times a year and i appreciate those collections big time. Hell id have taste of any of those and I'm not a whiskey/bourbon guy. I think i had too many bad experiences with trash tier stuff in high school and college :ROFLMAO:. I need to try some pappy. Might sway me back.

You guys will bust my balls but my two fav drinks are moscow mule and pina colada :ROFLMAO:

Moscow mules are great. I prefer gin mules but I'll take either one. Pina colada is something you keep between you and your therapist.

I love this thread. I'm in!

Here we go! That's what I'm talking about about, great to see these amazing collections.

I went most of my 30 year career dry, never touched any alcohol, except once a year on my BDay. After I retired, the wife and I got into craft cocktails at hidden speakeasies...we travel around the world looking for them. We went heavy into Mezcal after a trip to Mexico City...Del Maguey Vida, and Tobala being my favorites. That led to getting into peated Scotch like Laphroaig and Ardbeg. Over the last couple years I'm heavy into the Smoked Old Fashioned...with my favorites being High West, Elijah Craig and Woodford (I know, don't flame me, I love the taste of it). Still trying new brands all the time, but those are my favorites so far.

Lately, we've been to Ireland a few times and got more into Irish Whiskey. Toured the Jameson Distillery, they have some amazing higher end stuff that's only available there. Teeling is another one we really like...the Irish stuff is so smooth and goes down easy, it's dangerous! This last trip in April, we stayed at the Powerscourt Estate. They have a distillery on property, we took the tour and did a tasting. I have found quite possibly the smoothest, best tasting whiskey I've ever had! Fercullen 15...great to drink straight and has flavors of dried fruits like apricot, unbelievable! You can find it in the states as well.
