RHO Ordered 5/17/25
Hi everyone, I ordered my RHO through Mark Dodge just last week. My truck will be a 2026 model year (RHO Level 1, white color, beadlocks and panoranmic sunroof). I'm coming from a 2022 Rebel which is one of the best vehicles I've owned. I'm super excited for the truck but I'd be lying if I didn't say I had major concerns after spending time on here, YouTube, Facebook groups etc. I've always been active in online forums for the ~10 new vehicles I've owned over the years, and I don't ever really recall having seen so many issues with a specific vehicle. Everyone loves the truck but theres so many horror stories. It's gotten so bad that I'm seriously considering leasing the truck instead of purchasing it, that way I can eventually back out if it becomes a constant nightmare and/or headache.

Like most people, I really don't have the time, energy, or desire to deal with a vehicle that will be in and out of the shop. Regardless of how fun it is.

So my question is- does anyone know if any of these issues will be remedied for the 2026 MY? I'm sure we've all heard the whole "wait a year" on new platforms/powertrains.

Thanks in advance for any input and I'm happy to be a new member of the community.

this was posted on mopar insiders

but this statement has me concerned
"a refreshed platform with a brand-new Atlantis electrical architecture. "

wasn't the new electrical in the current model year causing issues?

@Wrinkled_Donut I'm right there with you on will some of the issued be resolved if I order a 26 MY. I test drove a 25 and almost bought it but had some personal stuff come up and had too much to do that buying a new truck wasn't one of them. Anyhow I've been looking around to see if I can locate a good deal on a leftover 25 MY that has options I want or at least close but at a good deal. Like you I don't feel like dealing with little issues or like some getting their new RHO and it being at the dealer more than they have it, I know it's limited owners but not what I want. Also my luck I would be one of them HAHAHA Like you when buying I like to go to forums and see what everyone is saying the bad thing about forums are not everyone uses them and not many people get on a forum and say I LOVE my RHO or whatever truck it is. Most just get on forums when they have a problem or question. So I guess we have to read through it all and try not to get too worked up about the problems the 25's have had. My biggest concern is the 25 MY a lot of the problems seem related to electrical or software issues.

There is absolutely zero reason to believe anything will be fixed for MY26. RAM has yet to acknowledge the issues exist and even the most recent builds are having the same issues as the early ones did.

That being said, I just turned 7000 miles with zero issues whatsoever. Luck of the draw, it seems

I heard a rumor that all current 2025 year model problems will be fixed or updated with the production of 2026 vehicles. They will be refresh and presented as new problems.
I may or may not have started this rumor.😂🤣

Why would anyone on a forum know this? Like we would have the inside track over someone who works at Stellantis? You have to be trolling right?

To be fair, my 2026 Tesla has a bunch of issues that aren't considered issues for warranty purposes or acknowledged in any meaningful way. My Toyota's were similar, and it just seems to be the way of things anymore.

This truck is interesting in so many ways though. Lots of different issues and many resolve themselves. I had issues with sensors, non-functioning and mal-functioning random and sporadic and then the issues just evaporated. More exciting, none of the issues tossed a code that I could reference for repair or warranty, as a result I just have tons of little videos that look like outtakes from "Supernatural" and truck appears to be possessed.

If it's stuff that just goes away it's probably software related. I had a problem w/ my Raptor getting stuck in 1st gear and being unable to accelerate and an update came out shortly after. It never happened again.

I am right there with you over 7000 miles no issues.

Btw i think its so funny people are worried about ram when gm just recalled motors on their trucks and suvs....like ram is the only one haha

Unfortunately I think this is true. My 2019 Ram (I was an early buyer in the 5th gen refresh) had a half dozen common problems but no deal breakers. I think I was production month 3 or 4 and there were probably five issues I didn't get that the earlier trucks did. There was some update report I was able to find online which showed some of the production fixes over time, and sure enough things that were bothering me in my truck were fixed 3, 4, 5 months after mine rolled off the production line. I haven't seen that report lately, I wish I could remember what it was called.

I think the most offensive was the A/C blend door problem which I think lasted more than 18 months before they published a fix. But mechanically most of the 2019s were solid.

I sold the truck during Covid for $$$ and foolishly assumed the late 2022 Ram I bought off the lot would be perfect. It has had its own set of minor issues, including things like the leather dash bubbling (known issue for 4 years) and I assume will end up with the rear window leak at some point, manifold cracks, and who knows what else. Mechanical things fail predictably and will keep doing it if changes aren't made.

I was all set to order a 2025, but while the 2019s had some problems here and there, they were pillars of reliability compared to this new refresh. I also tried to talk myself into a 2026 but couldn't. The game will be waiting long enough for them to work out the issues, while still catching one before price increases. But that may be impossible.

You could try to hedge your bets and lease with the intent of buying it out if the truck is good for the first x months, but in the end that will probably cost you a fair bit more.
