GMC Sierra Denali 1500 2024
Current Ride #2
Ram 1500 Tungsten
I recently picked up my second RHO last week (which was supposed to be the replacement for my first RHO which was in the shop for over 30 days previously) and after less than 400 miles it’s back at the dealership waiting on a new water pump, brake booster and an ABS module. I even had the dealership mechanics go through the common problems checklist that was shared on the forum before I took delivery. Absolutely absurd that back to back BRAND NEW vehicles have chronic issues making them undrivable.

Now I have to wait indefinitely for a water pump and a brake module as they are on back order with no eta on when they can be sent. I really want to love this vehicle but the quality and reliability issues just keep piling up. $4k in replacement parts for a vehicle that just came off the assembly line.

Absolutely insane Ann. What are you gonna do?

Not much I can do besides escalate the case to Stellantis to hopefully speed up the delivery of parts but even then it’ll probably be down for at least a month. Don’t even get me started on the other minor but “livable” problems like the HUD being slightly warped and the cluster not showing the green lights when hands free driving is enabled.

Thankfully the dealership didn’t return my other vehicle to Ram so I was able to grab it to drive in the meantime.

That does suck. Was the attempt at hands free on a mapped highway?

Yeah it was, hands free was working but the cluster didn’t light up green. It went from white, flashed green for a second then went dark.

Dude wtf. Are there any fucking RHOs without a problem? Having two fail is so beyond unacceptable. If RAM doesn’t make it right we need to start being more vocal. Don’t just post on this forum. Post on facebook, make a video and post on YouTube, post it on every fucking social media platform and do what you can to gain visibility. At this point I think it is the only way to get attention. Blast RAM and let everyone see. Like how have some people gotten hush money from RAM. Doesn’t that mean something is up that some people have been paid and signed an NDA? Fuck this truck. Nothing is worth this much hassle, especially when it costs $80k.

Mine hasn’t had any except quality control issues. 2300 miles.

I’m at 2100 and just hoping nothing worse happens than what I have already dealt with.

I’ve read every issue post on this forum. The notable majority appears to be harness/software/module/battery. Electrical if you want to be broad. I have read posts where the dealership blames a mechanical part, replaced it yet the CEL returns.

I have been a buyer that avoided over-the-top electronically driven vehicles in the past for this very reason. However, in 2025, even base models vehicles have increased the use of electronics. There is almost no avoiding multiple sensors, modules and communicating ecosystems. Sometimes you just have to cross your fingers and hope your harness was built correctly.

I was talking with the dealership mechanics to see if any of the other RHO’s they have sold have had similar mechanical or electrical issues (they’ve sold around 12 not including my 2) and they confirmed they at least 7 of them have been back for at least one issue that threw a CEL.

After this most recent issue the head service mechanic joked that I should just have a weekly standing service appointment, the whole service department knows who I am now since I’ve had to go there over 20 times in the last 4 months for a litany of issues.

The fact that 7/12 had cels…come on this is getting ridiculous.

Definitely escalate to Ram. When mine went down one part was on back order for 3 weeks. My case manager escalated it and the part came in after a few days. Ram had a D to D transfer made.

Yeah that’s the plan on Monday to try to escalate, I have a contact at corporate who can hopefully speed up the process. My worry is that these parts fail again, it’s crazy that a vehicle that was designed to go off road has basic parts like a water pump fail within the first 400 miles.

My RHO is approaching 30 days in the shop (I received it beginning of April and has been in 2 times for service and had to be towed to dealer as welll). How do I I open up a case with RAM and when is it time to consider the Lemion Law?

Lemon law is state dependent. Make sure you check out your specific laws. As soon as you qualify I’d pursue it and see what RAM does.

I hear you, just hoping it's a fluke like my bad injector.

I guess my question would be.... Don't these share the same electrical and technologies as the tungsten and limited. Are they seeing the same issues on these?

I'd be interested to see real data on how many are driving around problem free vs problematic.

Also hoping once the 2025 builds are done, they take a few months off to figure some things out and try to remedy some known issues before pushing the 2026s out. I'd rather wait a few extra months and have a more reliable vehicle, than get my vehicle sooner just to look at it sitting in the service department.

1500 worry free miles so far. Is yours level 1 package? I notice the level 1 seems to be having the issues?

My brother has a tungsten that was built back in Nov’24 and the only issue he had was a dead battery and rattly speaker. But he also just realized he has a generic street spare tire even though he has the offroad package but no real electrical or mechanical issues. Haven’t really heard any rampant issues with the Tungsten or Limited.
