Driving home tonight from work in moderate traffic, in the middle of 3 lanes I get three chimes / dings. Presumably some sort of warning but nothing on any of the screens. Per the HUD I’m under the speed limit, inside all the lane markers etc 30 seconds late it repeats and that’s it.

It happened maybe a month ago. Also twice and about a minute apart. That time the second set of dings was a higher pitch

I’m going mad trying to work out what it is! Please save me

It happened to me a couple of days ago. My scenario was that I pushed gas hard while on the freeway and I went from 60MPH to 95MPH and the chime started. My wife was distracted on the phone and did not notice my speed until the chime made her jump lol.

I noticed to the right of the screen (I had it in GPS mode) was a red line from the top of the screen to the bottom and it was warning countdown. It said that there was a radar clocking me and I could see in the gps map where the “cop” or radar was. Kind of like Apple Maps when you report debris or a collision.

I have tried to replicate the chime but no luck. I thought it was cool but not sure how consistent it is.

I have the car alert me multiple times of emergency trucks coming my way before I even see them. Not sure what in the GPS settings creates this feature so not sure how to control it.

Anyway, sorry for the long answer but I had the same experience but it was not anything wrong with the truck. We are all paranoid with this truck after reading so many issues. You should be OK. At least I hope!

Are you using the Waze app? I noticed this once and never found out why.

Nope. It was the Uconnect. That is why I was surprised to see something that I would consider advance for a standard stock GPS.
Strange. That would be cool if the standard gps is warning you though.

This has happened to me several times. No cops, accidents, debris, or cameras. Just super random dings. I'd love to see an explanation if anyone has one. Also, sometimes I get an extra speed limit sign when I'm over the speed limit (in addition to the red line around the original speed limit display). Again, it is so random and I don't know what it is trying to tell me.

I had this same thing happen on a road trip. Its the notifications from traffic cams, street signs etc....Go into the nav setting and turn of the notification. After doing this I've never heard it again.

For the extra cluster speed limit sign, are you exceeding the speed limit in a construction/school zone when the notification appears?

I changed these settings back in Feb. and haven't heard anything till the last week or so. Since then, the "3 dings" have gone off 2 maybe 3 times. Each time there wasn't any explanation...no emergency vehicles, no construction, not even going over the speed limit honestly. The fact there is no notification or warning that pops up on Uconnect is weird as well.

I think this is it. You’re a genius! Thanks

Yep, that's what this is.

Well, after reading everyone’s comments and then the manual (that’s another problem - finding the relevant section in a manual they don’t give you) which then isn’t totally clear my best guess is:-
The chimes are coming from conditional traffic signs
I am getting the amended speed limit signs appear in the HUD in roadworks etc with an orange bar at the bottom
I wasn’t speeding yesterday but might have been the previous time. So maybe this explains the chime tone difference Ie one set of dings for the conditional sign and another different set for exceeding the speed limit?

Trainspotting over

Not gonna lie, I exceed the speed limit most days (not but by 5-10 mph) and never got those dings until the last week or so. My HUD shows the speed limit signs and shows the sign edges red when exceeding but never did it chime.

I'm wondering now though if this is like the random glitches the truck seems to have with the electrical systems like with the blindspot monitoring system going crazy one drive and then resetting the next. Maybe the settings "forget" that you only have the visual reminder selected and it randomly gives you the ding??? Spitballing here...

The next subject for help is cameras, favorites etc. There one day. Gone the next!

This thing is so big I need them to park each morning.

Auto start/stop seems to be my nemesis. Seems like every 4th or 5th time of forgetting to turn it off I throw a CEL. I can clear it w/ my scanner and its good to go until that 4th time forgetting. Need to pony up the $$$ for the eliminator I suppose.

I get the chimes randomly and I am level 0 so I don’t have HUD. Not sure what it is, it has gone off before at traffic camera intersections, other times never saw anything that could cause it.

For the extra cluster speed limit sign, are you exceeding the speed limit in a construction/school zone when the notification appears?ve been close to construction zones but slow down as there are
Yes, close to construction sites but not speeding due to speed cameras and my wife telling me to slow down. I think you nailed it.

Thanks for the info.
