Adding to the list..

I think what happens is they sit for such a long time in between processes, they get drained to the point of no return. Ours had 25 hours of idle time BRAND NEW..I’m sure from jumping the batteries etc.

We went almost 4k miles before they gave up the ghost without warning. We will see how the new ones are. The service writer said they’ve replaced a ton.

Chris
THIS is also my theory as well

For what it's worth, dealer replaced both batteries on my vehicle when purchased. Took for short test drive, came back, parked and did paperwork - went to check out some other things on vehicle and it lit up like Christmas tree and shifter would not move. Techs found blown fuse and very low battery - vehicle had just come off truck a couple of days prior. Too early to tell if that did the trick, 400 miles later back in shop for leaking shock where it sits as of today.

How did you find a leaking shock? Tell tale oil puddle, weird ride?

Chris

OIl puddle trail on driveway behind/under right front shock - thought it was A/C condensation but didn't evaporate - took a look underneath and had light amber oily drip - took pics and gave to tech.

I bought new Duralast batteries(both) at 400 miles because my truck was completely dead, I'm at 13,000 now and haven't had an issue since. There is absolutely no reason you have to buy mopar batteries.
There should be absolutely no reason you have to buy ANYTHING ( Including batteries ) for a brand new $90,000 truck !!!!!

FACTS. According to most on this forum you need to:

-buy $500 of batteries immediately from autozone

-mount a solar panel on the roof and connect to trickle charger

-carry 5x battery back ups minimum

-hover near tesla chargers just in case

-say a nightly prayer that your battery stays charged, oh yeah and trickle charger did i mention that :ROFLMAO:

-use a voltage meter at least 3 times per day to monitor your voltage

-set driver screen to only view voltage

-live within 1 mile of ram dealership

Last step is just convert the truck to run on electric motors only and add tesla batteries (this will fix your battery issues, trust me bro)

you are correct, we should not have to, and it is 100% covered under warranty, but....

time is money. for me the money and time I spent changing the batteries, is drastically less than making an appointment, taking the truck in, waiting to see if they even replace the batteries the first time, stressing about will my truck start, worrying if the mopar labelled batteries are the issues, etc, etc, etc.
I replaced the batteries myself and haven't had an issue since, including not hooking it up to a charger a single time. the peace of mind and time saved are well worth it to me.

Agree. Time is more important than money for most working people.

Well no, no one is saying all that. They're simply saying that aftermarket batteries seem to fix a lot of the electrical issues. Should you have to buy new batteries for a brand new $70k+ truck? Absolutely not, but all Ram is going to do is keep swapping in new junk batteries and possibly continue your electrical issues. So these members are trying to find a solution to the problem at their own expense, and you're trying to belittle people who are providing useful information to the rest of us.

My post was satire. Thought maybe the tesla charger gave it away!

Belittle people? Bro, I'm one of the most active and supportive people on here, yeah i like to have fun but belittle? come on. LOL. Previous post was satire just like alot of my posts. Ive said 100x times, do whatever to your own truck i could care less.

If i were you i would buy 20 batteries, mount them in the bed then wire them together, Anxiety=Gone...

Well of course it was satire, the light hearted intention of the post was less clear. Being I’ve seen plenty of not light hearted jabs on the forum, I tend to take things at face value.

Apologize for the confusion sir. 👍🏼

Oh and tell ChatGPT my 20 batteries are in a RHO, not a TRX. 😉
