I talk about DB meter reading inconsistency for exhaust and how tough it is to recreate audio on mics with these setups. Its tough audio to capture. I personally hate doing videos with DB meter reading because its so inconsistent. I only do it as people as me for it.
But..at the 1:06 minute mark I notice they dip into the throttle but keep speed at 66mph you notice the DB meter is around 74db...that is considerably louder than the stock exhaust at those speeds. The rest of the clip you will notice the DB meter dropping to 66-68db but the vehicle is also decelerating...I think if the truck stayed at a steady state speed we would see a higher DB reading.
Once again DB meter readings are so inconsistent...where was the meter held..To do it right you need a super controlled process to have accurate data.
-My uneducated thoughts on the RHO exhaust system...the only way I see a good sounding setup that doesn't drone like mad and gives us the tone we want is a larger volume muffler with some passive or active valves. if you just want a louder exhaust system go cut your mufflers off...but if you want a good sounding setup thats where the real muffler tuning science comes into play. The stock exhaust sounds good inside the cabin under all speeds and towing...I can confirm this, it also sounds good under WOT, but at idle, revving and less than WOT it does not sound great.
