Was planning on flying out to pick up my vehicle from MD but with recent weather it’s looking like that may not be possible. Has anyone shipped their vehicle and regretted doing so due to damage or some other reason? Typically i buy local and pick up from the dealer so this is a foreign experience for myself.

No regrets, but read through this thread if you haven't already.

I'm currently trapped in Houston for day 2...Someone, somewhere didn't sacrifice enough goats to the weather gods (my working theory)

First off, MD is awesome, but they are only people and the bridges out of Lake Charles are COMPLETELY closed, which means, they aren't gonna be getting or sending anything until they open. It is what it is, and what it is, is not awesome.

I'll post some pics, video and more on my exciting adventure when I get home...if I get home.

In retrospect, HAD I shipped my truck, I'd have saved a significant sum, over flights, cancellations, ubers, rentals, hotels, food, water, and on and on. I haven't totalled my out of pocket yet but it's not pretty, and I still have to complete my MD trek, get the truck, hope I don't have an issue on way home, more fuel, food and such costs plus miles on the vehicle.

If I can leave you with anything, it would be this. There are pros and cons to all things in life, and I don't live in regretsville but I will DEFINITELY be having my NEXT MD vehicle shipped home, and bringing MD staff pastries and coffee when I finally see them.

It’s all fine, everything is fine… 😉😂

I'll take a mental breakdown over a mechanical one, lol.

It looks like the clouds are parting and might get in tomorrow morning sometime. knocking on so much wood, like the most would ever. Should finally be able to get some sleep now with a more complete picture of my day. Hotel hopping is not my jam, but neither is $450 per night.

Look on the bright side, you’ll soon have your truck, and hopefully you’ll enjoy a trouble-free road trip.

Drive safely, as people in south Louisiana and Texas may not be accustomed to snow, which could make driving conditions challenging.

Good news! I will at a minimum have a travel companion because the incredible Jeff left at what I can only surmise departed MD at ~3AM, crossed the whirly twirly frosty bridge and is about an hour from me now.

Assuming all goest to plan I'll have a trucktastic day at MD, if not, at least I'll have someone knew to hang out with. LOL

ty @AnthonyRI, @Aratliff and all the MD team. Hopefully you all weathered and continue to weather the storm safely.

You are living up to your forum name!

Best of luck today.

No regrets having mine shipped other than a little anxiety when I saw it hanging off the back of the car transport, but it was in perfect condition.

Did you have MD find a broker? What company did you use?

I did. Super easy and stress free. Not sure which company it was but MD had used them in the past and trusted them. Just under $1/mile

Any chance you could dig up the broker? I didn't order from Mark but will need it shipped.

Do you pay them directly or is it thrown into the truck deal? Mine should be showing up at MD any day now and I live in Florida. Might just reach out to them directly since they are Florida based.
