So took the RHO out over the weekend in the rain. Both mirror sensors turned on and stayed on. The dash said "Blind sport alert unavailable service required " plan to take to dealer this week. Wonder if anyone had similar.

Yep. When that happens you just have to turn engine off, wait a minute and restart. Fun fact your dealer won't even be able to see there was an issue because it self clears the code and not even in history. It's one of the many little electronic gremlins that are all able to self resolve at restart and no rhyme or reason.

I did that and even left it parked for a few hours. I ended up turning off the sensors. I need to turn them back on and seeing how its going now.

LOL. I did the exact same thing the first time it happened. Turned off lane assist, went in safety page and disabled them then re-enabled them and I got a nifty gift for my efforts. Now the lane assist button illuminates when I turn off the truck.

Now, we may be able to track the exact cause of issue on this one, if our stories match up. Did you press ANY buttons on driver door instrument panel prior to losing sensors, if so, which ones?

Next restart they worked again and by time I was home my scan computer found zero codes and passed all tests.

So I did same kind of thing. So my Mirrors were closed on start up for some reason. I pushed button to open them. Before getting .25 mile the blind spot sensors errors started. I turned off lane assist, closed, reopened mirrors. Then turned off truck and exited. Turned back on. Same thing. So I turned off the sensors and never turned back on.

I'll turn them on in the morning and see if they are still being weird.

I’ve had the same issue since 300 miles. Been to dealer twice. First time they said PDI was done incorrectly & it had been fixed. Nope. Second time to dealer & tech contacted Ram engineering. They told him it’s a widespread issue & a software patch should resolve it. Was told software patch was a week out. I’m still waiting (1+ month).

BTW, my service writer’s scanner could not read the malfunctions, but the tech was able to see all of them. They do not self-clear. You just need the correct tool & ability to scroll history.

I haven't done anything, but I do get this issue from time to time. It's very snowy/dirty around my parts right now and figured some sensor was cakes up. After shutting off and coming back out to go somewhere they work fine again. Glad to know it's a possible software issue.

Had this happen a few times in the last few days. It's been rainy and windy, plus i need to wash the truck so wondering if the sensors are just dirty

Curious if this happens again have dealer look for a wiring faults...I am convinced the issue I had with the rear wire harness could be something others are dealing with too..not a hard fix, but you have to know how to look for it.

Great advice. I’m thinking if it’s software, every single RHO should have this problem…but, they don’t.

But, if Ram engineering is telling the dealers it’s a software issue…who is gonna say they are wrong? And who is going to pay for hours of wiring harness teardown & diagnostic? What if they find nothing? Customer will be on the hook!

@FrankNSteinPC this was one of the threads that might be related to your sensor issues. Maybe send it to the dealer, or have them take it to a different dealer that will work on it ? (what a pain)

Any update from this thread? I took possession of a 2025 ram 1500
Limited in December 2024. I’ve had this same issue where my blind spot service required comes on randomly now and then. I’ve had it go on for minutes flashing on and off until it finally disables itself and the triangle lights on the mirrors stay illuminated. Been to dealer 3 times and no solution. I’m getting very very frustrated. Spend this kind of money on a vehicle that can’t operate properly.
My worry is the dealership will keep “cleaning the sensors and checking connections” and not do anything. I need to make sure they escalate this to Chrysler and get someone who knows where they are doing. I’ve taken a few videos of it doing this while driving so they can’t tell me it isn’t happening.

I reached out to my dealer service advisor this week. The software patch fix was supposed to be available in as few as 7 days…back in early January. Still no patch.

So, why do approximately 80% of these trucks have no issues if they are running the same software? My service advisor had no answers.

Service advisor suggested I call Ram Cares. Well, it’s a call center where they log complaints/problems. It’s a management tool. If you have lots of time to pester those folks repeatedly, you may get escalated & they’ll offer some form of “compensation”. But don’t be fooled…they work for Ram/Stellantis, not the customer.

So, we can wait for a fix until we have no options…Stellantis is banking on it.

They're not going to fix this. It's been an issue on Stellantis vehicles (Jeeps, for sure) for years.

My girlfriend's 2022 GC has this about half of the time and has since she bought it.
