Blown engine

I came from a '20 EcoDiesel...Go take a look at those forums. It is amazing anyone still has one based on some of the ranting....But they do, and the majority (including me) would buy another one if they were still available.

What’s up everyone. First time post here. 2025 RHO just blew a motor. Thermostat went, truck overheated, and block cracked. Stellantis ordered new engine. Want to lemon this piece of shit of a motor. Notice motor…super nice truck but motor sucks. Evident by the return of the HEMI next year. Anyone in same boat?

I'm really sorry this happened to you, but I wouldn't really consider a thermostat issue as necessarily a reason to condemn a particular engine itself. Any engine would do the same thing if a thermostat failed. The question is if Stellantis cheaped out the thermostat supplier, or if you just got a faulty unit (can happen even with good suppliers).

I have 6500 miles on the Hurricane HO motor in my 2025 Tungsten. It has had zero motor issues and runs like hell over my 2019,and 2023 5.7 Hemi. But I have had electrical gremlins first 1000 miles but now all good. Sorry, it happened, but the Thermostat is not the Hurricane issue. Glad Chrysler is taking care of it for you.

Did your issues sort themselves out or did the service center?

I had one of those 2019 engine needed replacing a week before i transferred only had 72k miles and that was a month after i paid to replace a turbo

Hey all. Picked up the truck after new engine was installed. Engine seems good so far but experiencing what seems to be vibration combined with a bouncy suspension. This truck was smooth as can be prior to engine blowing. As you'll see in the image, cab was detached from bed and raised so engine could be removed. My assumption is upon reassemble, something was not put back together correctly...like as if rolling down the assembly line to factory specifications. Any thoughts?

Once something is taken apart to that extent (especially by techs who are inexperienced/don't care enough) it will never be the same. I'd open a ticket and hope that Stellantis cares enough to do something about it. They probably won't, but I wish you luck.

I’d consider ordering a new one and trading that one off, personally. Trade values are exceptionally high right now relative to new order pricing.

I’m the first guy here to have had to replace an engine on the RHO. My truck had a bad fuel injector that got stuck open same day I bought the truck and it hydrolocked the engine while I was driving.. needed new engine, dealer ended up reordering my truck because I didn’t want a brand new truck with a engine swap by some kid at a dealership and plus mismatched VIN numbers frame to engine….

Had the Second truck for a few months and has 2500 miles and no issues. I’ve had the 5.7 and the 6.4 Hemi before but this twin turbo takes the win
