Those who have used the bulletpoint mount, specifically the MagSafe phone mount, does your phone jiggle ever so slightly while driving? The mount feels rock solid and everything is super tight but my phone almost constantly jiggles ever so slightly which drives me nuts anytime I try to look at my phone. Just wondering if this is normal or not as I wasn’t expecting this.

Yes, yes it does. I also had it automated (iPhone) to say when it was charging once established with MagSafe mount so after every bump etc. it would tell me haha. I turned that off very fast.

Oh wow that would definitely be enough to drive you nuts!! I guess I’ll just have to get used to the jiggling on the mount. I even used the self tapping screws which I thought would take care of it. Only other option I could try would be to put one of the magnetic rings it comes with on my phone case (which is MagSafe) and see if that magnet is stronger potentially. I did take my phone out of the case and it seemed to help with the jiggling but it still did jiggle some.

Yes it does, annoys me. Definitely going to figure a solution.

If you come up with something let me know! I too am looking for a solution to fix this issue! Hopefully one of us get something figured out to solve this issue.

Piggybacking this thread to ask if these bulletpoint mounts work with the 14 inch screen?

There is this really neat phone holder right in the center console...charges the celly too!!! 😬
Im aware, if it keeps vibrating on the mount it may find a forever home on the wireless charger. LOL. It doesnt charge in there with the case i have on my phone (rokform). Just nice to have the phone on the arm. I like the mount, not the vibration . I plan to mount go pro to it in the near future as well and radio.

My phone is the same way, won’t charge in the case on the wireless charging pad or if just leave it there prolly. Do like the looks of the mount and how well it holds my phone just can’t stand the vibrating! It drives me nuts. I’m going to try taking some of the foam from the packaging and sticking it under the Rubi plate to see if it stabilizes it at all. Will let everyone know if it works since you wouldn’t be able to see this under the Rubigrid anyways.

Yeah, except you can't even see the phone while it's in there. This is why people buy aftermarket mounts.
With a huge nav screen and also nav in the dash, why does everyone feel the need to see their phone while driving?

It's quicker to do things on the phone plus its mounted right where i want it. . The big screen is a pain to find music on spotify, enter locations into maps, respond to messages, make calls and so on. I also like to take videos with my phone when we are in cool places or offroad and like it at the ready. Bonus points you can take selfie videos with your phone when catching air or launching. Phone next to big screen is what i like.

Just need it to stop vibrating. I think its just the nature of the design. two little screws with zero dampening then attach a huge arm (lever) and attach super heavy phone, there will be vibration.

Exactly! Two screws and I even used the three self tapping screws in mine as well and it did help with the self tapping screws but didn’t take it away completely. Will try putting some foam from packing in the box under the rubigrid tomorrow to see if it helps and report back.

So those of you on this thread, tell me how safe it is to look at your phone for anything and what doesn’t work with the truck that it HAS to be a distraction?

I use Apple Maps for the heads up, the system reads the message and I can reply without looking and the radio can play anything streaming off your phone if you want.

Help me understand?

Chris

If you can't use your phone sparingly and situationally or look at the radio while you drive, you're not that good or skilled of a driver.

You’re not answering my question.

I used a cup holder MagSafe charger in my old 1500 rebel and 2500 rebel. Purchased from Amazon. It was solid and out the phone right at the level I needed it.
I now use the built in charger but I kind of miss having the old cupholder setup since it was so convenient and closer to eye level so that I could see the phone without reaching down and yanking it from the center console thing. Only downside is the lost cupholder. I found it superior to the bulletpoint fyi.

Read my comment above.

Yes when you are driving your eyes should be on the road and not the phone, distracted driving is unsafe. That being said, i am constantly stopped or offroad where i am at a safe point to use the phone for mentioned things such as shooting video, it is more effective than using the screen. When driving i use the screens. I also use my phone to film from the bulletpoint mount. Its also so nice to grab your phone off the magnet when you get out or need it .

Well tried stuffing some of the foam under the Rubi grid that came in the box and unfortunately it didn’t take care of the vibrating unfortunately. Guess it’s time to look for another solution.
