I know the majority of you probably hate car washes, but it’s so dusty where I live, I tend to go quite often. Curious if any of you have tried to take this thing through a normal car wash. I read a couple of scary stories about the TRX causing damage to car washes because it’s so wide.
I’m thinking of getting a water deionizer and start doing it at home.

My GMC makes me nervous on most car washes. The RHO is definitely not going to be attempted.

Mine up here in AK the car washes don't clean the bristles, and their liability is next to zero, even if they chip your paint. After getting my Raptor (selling it) ceramic coated I could easily clean my truck with just a ceramic detailer spray and two microfibers.

@Clutch23 for dust this stuff works awesome. Doesn't take a ton of time and you don't have to fumble with hoses.

I don't recommend.. but it will do the job.

If you apply a good ceramic, you can easily and often use foam cannon for no touch cleans if its super dusty. Good enough for government work.

I’ll have to check this out. I wonder how it works with hard water. I’m out in the desert and the water is crazy hard out here.

My well water is so horrid that I need to do a bottle and microfiber. Like I cannot understate how bad my nonfiltered well water is. It leaves so many deposits on it that it is better (for me at least) to just use a spray and microfiber.

While expensive, your truck may be best suited for ceramic and then going to your local self serve car wash and using the softened water to hose it off.

On the not so distant past had to do that weekly when in an apartment with a one car garage.

We have a good soft touch wash near my house. The clearance is 7' for height - so I think I'm ok there - with 2" to spare! in terms of the width, I don't think the body where the mirrors are attached is any wider. So, in a one-track wash, it will push the vehicle further to one side (the right side in my case) in theory by 8" vs. a non-RHO ram. My Nissan Titan with towing mirrors makes it through w/o even putting the mirrors in - so I think the RHO will be fine as long as I fold the mirrors in. Anyone have a different view?

Not sure but I’m sure you can let us know ;). Here is my truck in our parking garage that is 7’ at the minimums. I was crawling through a few places irritating those behind me. 😳

If done correctly, I totally recommend. It’s the safest way to wash a vehicle. Really!

Watch “The Garry Dean” method of rinseless washing on YouTube to get an idea of how it’s supposed to be done. The key is soaking multiple, plush microfibers into the solution & putting them aside when each gets soiled.

It also helps to have a good coat of ceramic on the paint. And, if your vehicle is really dirty, like caked on crud, you gotta pressure wash it 1st!

Now, I’m not talking about “waterless washing”. That’s a whole different thing & it’s meant for people who have zero water access or the local authorities don’t allow “hose & bucket” car washes.

It softens the water.
