Hello,

I bought a new RHO last week and got about 100 miles on it before the check engine light came on and went into limp mode. There were faults popping up on the dash as well a few times before that. Dealer has a new PCM on order, but currently has no ETA. I see thr P/N is the same for all 3.0L turbo ram trucks. I'm wondering if anyone knows if a PCM can be taken out of a new truck on the lot, like a Laramie, and then be flashed over for a RHO at the dealer level? Or is this something the Factory does to a blank PCM before shipment?

Being that the P/N's are the same when looking at parts diagrams, I wonder if the dealer has to provide a VIN when ordering, and the warehouse does the flash. Would be nice if the Dealer could just swap me while they wait for the new PCM to arrive.

Did they say what the problem was with the original PCM?

Star case and field rep advised them to follow diagnostic tree, that ended at “replace PCM” unclear if that will actually fix it. That’s why it would be nice to be able to swap pcm with known good one off the lot, flash it, and see if that works. I’d hate to wait for one, and it not be the problem.

Original problem was the first time I hit 4500 RPM while driving a bunch of faults came on the dash for cruise control and operable automatic emergency breaking in operable, and then it would stick in whatever gear was in when it downshifted that evolved the check engine light and limp mode.

Truck was absolutely fine if you drove regular and never touched 4500 rpm’s.

And the first time that happened was at that 100 mile mark? Or did it happen before that, go away, then come back again?

It had about 25 miles on when I bought it. I drove it home from the dealer the night I bought it, only about 10 miles and city streets. No issues. My wife drove it the next day, but she never had an issue, I assume it's because she never got over 55-60mph and never had to downshift or pass anyone. I drove it the next day to work and thats when the problems started. Thats also the first time I ever put my foot in it to pass someone or merge on the freeway. Thats when I realized the problem happens every single time it hits 4500 rpm. The only time it didn't happen like that is when I was driving to the dealer for diagnosing. Driving normal speeds, no downshifting and the check engine light came on and went into limp mode.

So I have had my RHO for 3 weeks. I have about 1400 miles currently. No issues at all since buying, it has ran great! Today on the way to work I got a CEL and an alert that my park sense was disabled and needed service as well as none of my cameras working, my whole screen was blue when trying to use cameras. I disconnected the battery and all the features work fine now and the truck runs and drives perfect but the CEL did not reset with the battery reset. I called the dealer and am still waiting on a call back. In the mean time I went to Autozone and had it scanned. It is spitting out a code for P068A "ECM/PCM Power Relay De-energized performance- Too early" anyone have any experience with this yet? Based on google and this forum I didn't find much but it appears to be a serious issue and they recommend not driving it even though it is running fine. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

What in the actual fuck is wrong with all these trucks???

got a list of my codes today.
P0366 Camshaft position sensor performance (pending)
U0401 Implausible date Received from ECm/PCM (stored)
U0402 Implausible data received from TCM (stored)
C2227 ABS Disabled ECU (stored)

Updated ETA for PCM is 2/17. 14 days towards a lemon law, which I don't want to do. I like the truck. I just think it's unacceptable to not have parts available for a new vehicle and get 0 updates from Ram unless I reach out and ask questions.

I need to get off the forum so I can enjoy my truck more 🤣 all I do now is watch battery voltages every few minutes or just keep staring at screen to see if something gonna light up.

For you it's unacceptable to not have parts on brand new things but I have appliances service company and let me tell you there's companies that don't have parts for few weeks old refrigerators 😳

I believe it. I was a service manager for a European multiline motorcycle dealership for years. I understand things like this happen, but I would search the ends of the earth while having multiple reps helping to find and cross reference parts until I had a solution. So being left in the dark really bothers me. lol
